Okay, we have one Baseball position in this series...Outfield...I've noticed, the biggest factor for the most part seems to be offensive numbers...well, except when 3B...Read More
Some one needs to do some cleaning around here! Why not her!?!
So I haven't written shit this past week...I have lacked any and all motivation...There has been plenty to write about...Football Free-Agency/Trade Madness...The MLB trading deadline deals...And of course, a topic I spent plenty of time watching...Those ass-hat, fuck-stain, bastards in DC...No, not the Redskins or Nationals, or Capitals...The Republicans, and the Democrats, and the Tea-party fuck-ups...Shit if I start there, I'll lose it...I'll close with those cunts...
MLB Trade Deadline...That's where we'll start...I'm not going to get into all the Bullshit...But I'm gonna get into the Indians...
First they trade some scrap for Kosuke Fukudome...An overrated, weak hitting outfielder...Okay they needed some one who could hit in the outfield, but they really need a power-hitting rightly...Then I was pissed when the Phillies landed Hunter Pence for a couple single-A players and 2 players to be named...Now those single-A guys are suppose to be top prospects...But fuck it, they are 2-3 years away from the majors...And prospects are just prospects...No guarantees in Baseball!
But the Tribe made a BIG splash Saturday night when they out-bid everyone for Rockies pitcher, Ubaldo Jimenez...The Indians did what they always say they won't do...They traded their top two pitching prospects...There are a lot of Indians fans who aren't happy about this...These are the same fuckers who say the Indians are always too cheap to make a big move...Shut the fuck up, they just did!
The Indians have fooled everyone for years that they are masters of young talent...But so many of these prospects never pan out, or they leave just as they are hitting their stride...Fuck it, sell them while they're hot! Look at Grady Sizemore...Bitch can't stay healthy and when he does play, he strikes out religiously...Stop crying about Double-A pitchers being traded, and be happy the Indians just landed a head-case, Ace...Yes, Jimenez told the Tribe he won't be able to pitch in Boston this week...He is emotionally beat up...Shit, he just didn't want to get beat up in Fenway by the Sox...
The Indians made another trade, that really bothered me...They traded Orlando Cabrerra to the Gianst for an outfield prospect...O. Cabrerra was the veteran this team needed...He kept people loose, and taught them as well...He is the guy that worked with Asdrubal Cabrerra and his swing, which has lead to a major upgrade in power...Oh, am I the only guy that noticed that no matter what team Orlando Cabrera is on, it always makes it to the post season...The guy has needed experience...
I was also happy for Pirates fans, who saw their team make moves to get Derek Lee and Ryan Ludwick...Those are a couple of bats that could really help the Pirates...I wish the Tribe could have landed one of those right-handed bats...
The NFL...Screw it...Players are going everywhere...Philly got Mental-case, Vince Young, so when Vick gets hurt, they're fucked...I don't care how many great corners you have93)...Those bitches can't throw!
Seattle is stocked up on backup QB's...W
ith Kevin Kolb going to Arizona, now we'll see if he's any good, or just another overrated twat!
Chad Johnson is finally going to be a winner, luckily landing in New England for a couple of late round picks...They also got Fat Albert Haynesworth for a 5th rounder...Dude is a fucking asshole, retard, dick-head, but not a bad risk...He he can't play for Bill and company, he'll be done in the NFL...
Now, for the fuck-stains in DC...Something has been made very clear over the some time now...This is no longer a "Government of the people, by the people, and for the people"...It is a Government of the corporations, by the corporations, for the corporations...I proved it to you right HERE...
This was backed up even more by this whole debt ceiling debate, and people's refusal to close loop-holes for huge companies, that pay little to no taxes, and get all kinds of tax-payers money in refunds...Cuts are great, but revenue is needed...And based on every poll I've seen a lot of people get that, but DC doesn't care about the people they are suppose to represent...
Another part of the problem, is certain Tea Party supporters and Republicans...Probably some Dems too...They believe in "The American Dream"...But their belief is different then many...To most people that means having a better life then your parents, and providing a better life for your kids, then you had...To these dopes, it's to become Millionaires...They think everyone, especially themselves, will one day, have millions fall in their lap...So they don't want to see taxes go up on the richest 2% or on huge profit making companies, because damn it, one day that will be them...
Hey, fucking idiot, NO IT WON'T!
There is nothing wrong with being Middle Class...If everyone sat at a desk playing Angry Birds, and collecting pay checks, nothing would get done and we'd all be out of work real soon...Those rich people you help get rich, and defend, and aspire to be....They don't give a fuck about you!
Over the last few weeks, I have lost any and all faith in every elected official in this country...What to do...I'm not sure, but I found THIS_SITE and I really like the idea...I don't know if it will work, but it would be nice if our voices were actually heard for once.
There's a Wolf Outside our Doors, and it's name is Our Government...
A lot has happened in the NFL since I last wrote something here, and we finally have a re-certified union and a proposed CBA (it's not 100% official yet) which led to a free agent frenzy over the past few days that has never been seen before in the NFL.
There's been quite a bit of chatter criticizing the Panthers for spending a shit-ton of money over the past few days to keep all of their free agents, and the favorite insult to be thrown around was "Why would they over pay for players from a 2-14 team?" Well, it's a good thing that I'm here, because I'm about to tell you why.
The players the Panthers "overpaid" for were not the reason the team suffered through a 2-14 season last year. If the Panthers would have had any one other than Golden Boy Jimmy Clausen at QB, they would have been much better than their record showed. They had talent at every position other than QB, and they wanted to keep that talent on the roster to build around it.
Whether you want to believe me or not, or call me a homer, or whatever -- the fact of the matter is that Charles Johnson, DeAngelo Williams, Jon Beason, Thomas Davis, and James Anderson DESERVED their contracts, otherwise the Panthers wouldn't have given them the offers. If the Panthers had that much money to spend, don't you think they would have thrown a shit-load of money at guys like Nnamdi Asomugha if they didn't think their own players weren't worth re-signing? Me either. And before you say "But Thomas Davis has been hurt two years in a row.", keep in mind that it's a deal that is incentive-laden, and the real dollar figure if he does end up hurt again isn't that bad of a cap hit.
One other thing I'm glad about is the new rookie salary scale, because instead of owing Cam Newton $80M dollars with $50M guaranteed like the Rams owe Sam Bradford, the Panthers only owe Newton a grand total of $23M in guaranteed money over the next four years. If he sucks (which I don't think he will, but anything's possible), then the Panthers aren't on the hook for an insane amount of money like teams have been in the past.
Whether you agree with the moves the Panthers made or not, the one thing that no one can say anymore is that Jerry Richardson is a cheap old miser who refuses to spend his money on his football team. I think he's proven that by throwing around money like PacMan Jones at a strip club over the last 5 days, and it just proves that he knew what he was doing when he shed extra cap space at the beginning of last season to prepare for the new CBA terms. As I sit back and watch as other teams are trying to cut players and restructure contracts to get under the new salary cap, I can't help but chuckle because those are the same teams' fans who liked to poke fun at the Panthers for being the cheap kids on the block last year, and now the Panthers are not only able to keep their own players, but were able to get a few other players from other teams.
Speaking of getting players from other teams, the Panthers flat out ass-raped the Bears last week when they practically stole Greg Olsen from right under their nose. A top-tier TE for a 3rd round pick? Where do I sign up? Olsen will contribute immediately and, along with Jeremy Shockey, gives the Panthers their first legit TE threat since Wesley Walls played for the team back in the 90's.
Anyway, I think I've talked enough about the Panthers. I'm just glad that football's back, and before long we'll be watching teams half-ass it through Pre-Season games. I don't know about you, but I can't wait.
Well, that's all I've got this week. As always, feel free to add your thoughts in the comments section.
Welcome to this weeks edition of Special K's FEARLESS TOP 10 PREDICTIONS. This week the Sprint Cup series is at the hollowed grounds of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the 18th running of the Brickyard 400. It is the 20th race of the Sprint Cup season. Across town at the Lucas Oil Raceway Park formerly Indianapolis Raceway Park to us long time fans, the Camping World Truck Series raced Friday night and the Nationwide series raced last night for the final time. Next year they move to the Brickyard for the first time. With all of the history of the famed Brickyard this has become the 2nd biggest race of the season. Passing is difficult, there are very few cautions and fuel milage can come into play. You will need pit strategy to get to the front if you are starting in the back of the pack. Look for possible short-pitting and two tire stops to get to or maintain track position. It should be an exciting race. As always there were several one-lap-wonders in the top 20. Some of those include David Ragan pole, Kasey Kahne 2nd, Brad Keseclownski 5th, AJ Allmendinger 6th, Juan Problem Montoya 7th, Paul "Daddy Buys my ride" Menard 15th and Dale Earnhardt Jr 22nd. Last week yours truly had 5 drivers in the Top 10 and 3 others in the Top 20. Here are this weeks picks.
1.---Kasey Kahne has been having probably his best overall season in NASCAR. He is my surprise pick of the week and he usually gets a solid finish here.
2.---Jeff Gordon has 4 wins here and seems to have thisplace figured out.
3.---Tony Stewart has 2 wins here and loves this place.
4.---Jimmie Johnson has 3 wins and 4 finishes of 22nd or worse in his last 7 races here. He is the defending champion.
5.---Klassless Harvick is a former winner here and will probably use pit strategy to get up front.
6.---Denny Hamlin was 3rd fastest in early practice and blew a motor and will start shotgun on the field 43rd. My favorite driver will be in contention by the end of the race.
7.---Kurt Busch is starting up front and usually runs well here.
8.---Kyle Busch doesn't have consitantcy on the flat tracks as a rule. However they are on a roll this season.
9---Carl Edwards is the points leader and has been fast all season and today is no exception.
10.--Matt Kenseth is starting up front and that means he usually stays there.
Other drivers to watch include Mark Martin, Martin Truex Jr, Jeff Burton, Clint Bowyer, Greg Biffle, Problem Montoya, Joey Lagano and Cry'in Ryan Newman. Look for Dale Earnhardt Jr to continue his slide in the points and could be out of the Top 10 and the Chase at the end of the race.
I see that the Patriots got Albert Haynesworth. That is quite shocking. The man has no desire to act human and has made that abundantly clear. Just a few years he stepped on another player's head and received a small suspension for that act. He has been nothing but a malcontent, everywhere he has gone. There are no signs or indications that he is about to change. I get the feeling I am watching 'Lockup Raw' and their greatest alumni. If he doesn't correct this fatal flaw, we just might. I could see him ending up on those programs meant to scare kids.
I am sure he would have his own take on that too. Maybe he would talk about how 'the man' is keeping brothers down.. Andre Gurode is a brother too, so maybe it is more like the Crips and Bloods. He could be in a group like the Fenway Crips. He and Skip Bayless would share a cell and Skip would do his laundry and his conjugal duties. Almost sounds like a romantic comedy. The two would discuss the latest Harry Potter Movie or BraneWorlds. Sadly, I think neither has any clue about branes or brains. Maybe after his release he can go work on a ranch and make a Hallmark movie. He and TO will have a garden and fight off Native Americans with stun guns. (I wonder if Skip would approve).
But this kind of behavior exhibited by Haynesworth is in great abundance. After his stepping on Gurode, he clearly demonstrates a kind of pathos that would indicate he could be violent. Pacman Jones is in that category but I am reserving my judgments about Mike Vick. At least he is saying and doing the right things in front of the camera. Those other miscreants are truly lost souls.
