A Game of Thrones: Fun Times Indeed

It has been a crazy couple of days filled with shock, anger, confusion, joy and, of course, anger. Whether it be the always thrilling excitement of seeing a free throw contest to having your star player thrown to the ground like a cheap Raggedy Andy doll to having the sole reason why the Pittsburgh Steelers were eliminated in the playoffs last season getting traded to the bastard child team of the New Jersey-New York area, an area in which I reside in, then there were feelings all over to be had. First, it would not be a proper arrticle if I did not include a funny image relating to the title, so here is this to (maybe) tickle the funny bone.

T

here now that we got that out of the way, let's continue.

Speaking of things that make my piss boil whenever they are mentioned: basketball officiating. I love when a basketball game that has a Final Four berth at stake and has two very commanding powers in college basketball like Ohio State and Syracuse gets played on the godforsaken free throw line! I understand that foul need to be called during the course of the game, but 42 free throw attempts for Ohio State?? For fuck's sake, this is not a Division II team that is out there, it is Syracuse!  Granted, I enjoyed seeing them struggle (), but coming from a Seton Hall University student and member of the Big East, that is beside the point. Games should have even numbers of foul for both teams.... that is, unless you are the Ohio Bobcats and, while trying to become the first 13th seed to reach the Elite 8 and only getting 24 fouls called against you compared to eight for almighty North Carolina. There's bad officiating but then there is downright favoritism. There is nothing I fucking hate more than referees ruining a perfect game of college basketball. The best part of that game? Despite the calls going against them, Ohio had a Gordon Hayward moment and missed the game winner by a sliver.

Now to the big boys, you would think that after all the nasty events that occurred in the history of the National Basketball Association, from the Kermit Washington/Rudy Tomjanovich punch to the Malice at the Palace to the Knicks/Nuggets brawl, one would think that these bums would realize that, while they have to do their best on the court, there is a limit between playing your best and acting like a thug on the streets. That brings us to the Colorado State product known as Jason Smith. He is thrown into the national spotlight due to his hip check of doom that sent Clippers uber star Blake Griffin tumbling into the hardwood. Smith was ejected and the New Orleans crowd cheered. That would be all fine and dandy for people for stand and applaud for a player that got decked by another, potentially harming the player who fell to the ground, only to see that the decked player got up, no harm being done in the process.... except that the crowd was cheering for the ejected Smith, who left the floor like he just became the heavyweight champion of the world.  Seriously? All I can say is....

Nothing more really. Funness for all! Right????

Hi Folks,

Ark Razor of TSBN & the Gab has generously gone ahead and ordered a tree and plaque to placed in City Hall Park in Gaithersburg Maryland, just up the street from his house. Now that the order has been placed we'd like to ask if any of you would be interested in donating to this fundraiser to help pay the costs for the plaque and tree. If there are any funds leftover we'll be forwarding them to the family.

I've been in contact with Jud's daughter Sasha who is serving our country in the Air Force at Langley AFB. She has been very grateful for the outpouring of support from all of us who have honored her dad and looks forward to returning home once the tree is planted. I had sent her the proof of the plaque and she loved it.

Between the Gab and our friends at TSBN we feel we can easily come up with the $350 for the cost of the tree and plaque. If you'd like to donate to help defray the costs you can use the Pay Pal account I set up below.

I'd like to thank you all in advance for helping us all remember our friend 3rd Stone.

Mocking draft two point oh

Mock draft two point oh.

The combine showed us that some guys are strong and some guys are fast and some guys are

strong and fast. The private team workouts will show which way the war rooms of each NFL team will go.

They put there draft boards together and list the guys they hope to draft and try to anticipate what guys their

rivals are going for. The gamesmanship goes all the way to the level of taking the guy the other guy wants just

so he doesn't get him. Most of the speculations pre draft are based on trying to decipher the lies from the spokesperson

for each team. Bill Belichick says he loves the skill set of a certain DE hoping Rex Ryan takes him so Bill can get the Safety

he was really hoping would slip to him. As we all have learned over the years, mock drafts are usually good thru the first two picks

and then a trade shakes the whole thing up. Then of course there is the run. Maybe O Tackle's start to fall and the teams in need pick a

guy that should be a late first or early second at #7 that makes the guys at 8&9 change there mind and the whole mock becomes a mockery.

so with out further blather and b s her is oldharry's Two point Oh:

1. Indianapolis- the Colts start the rebuilding and fill the greatest need, QB pick- Andrew Luck

2. Cleveland- trades both firsts and a second to get Robert Griffin III, QB

5. Tampa Bay -they take running back Trent Richardson

7. Jacksonville- really could use a WR but they need help everywhere and can't pass on- Quinton Coples, DE

8. Carolina- Bdub and the Panthers are glad to see Morris Claiborne still on the board at 8

9. Miami- needs a QB and settles for Matt Flynn ...they take Riley Reiff, OT to help protect him.

10. Buffalo- needs a pass rusher and gets one high motor guy- Courtney Upshaw, OLB, Alabama

11. Kansas City- needs O line help and a healthy Matt Cassell, the pick -Jonathan Martin, OT, Stanford

12. Seattle- At 6-3, 220 and 4.4 speed WR Michael Floyd is the pick

13. Arizona -could use another fast WR or Offensive line help and they pick- David DeCastro, OG, Stanford

14. Dallas- revamping the secondary could start with Dre Kirkpatrick

15. Philadelphia- was loaded last season with just a few serious needs they get help at linebacker, the Eagles take- Luke Kuechly, ILB, Boston College

16. NYJets needs a LB that can cover NE's TE's how about- Melvin Ingram, OLB, South Carolina

17. Cincinnati -needs secondary help and and has two 1st round picks with this one they take- Janoris Jenkins

19. Chicago, Da Bears and quarterback Jay Cutler need a WR and get one here- Kendall Wright

20. Tennessee- needs a defensive play maker -Nick Perry

21. Cincinnati -RB Lamar Miller ran a 4.43 , pardon the weak ass pun...is it Miller time in Cincy

22. St.Louis from Cleveland. Mike Adams is the help needed on the O line.

23. Detroit- gets help in the secondary with Stephon Gilmore, a corner with 4.42 speed and at 6'1" 193 can he cover the big receivers?

24. Pittsburgh- needs to address both lines, the defense will benefit with this guy Whitney Mercilus, DE, Illinois

25. Denver- they won the division and they win the Manning /Wayne sweepstakes but everyone knows they need help on both sides of the ball, this is some serious help on defense- Jerel Worthy

26. Houston- Wide receiver Stephen Hill at 6'4" 215 and a forty at 4.36 could be a steal here at # 26

27. New England - Bill is delighted to see Safety Mark Barron still here at #27

28. Green Bay - gets a real find this late in the first round, DE Andre Branch

29. Baltimore- wants another chance before the defense gets too old, they pick- Jared Crick, DE, Nebraska

30. San Francisco -was lacking a deep threat and and it cost them a trip to the SB today they get one- Rueben Randle, WR

31. Pittsburgh from New England for Mike Wallace! and Tommy Brady is delighted too...and the Steelers take Donta Hightower

32. NY Giants- The Champs can use this pick to further strengthen the SB winning defense- Fletcher Cox, DT

I know  what your thinking...Oldharry has been hitting the Irish Mist...you can mock all you want, trades and free agents can make a mockery out of every mock draft over night..

As many of you know...

The lovely Miss Kim treated me...

Her daughter...

And the daughter’s boyfriend...

For a night of WWE in Ontario, CA...

I initially thought it was Monday Night Raw...

It was a house show...

Front row...

Right on the railing...

Scottjax axed me to do a blog...

Being a former DJ...

I take requests...

Here goes...

First of all the best part of sitting in the front row...

Is letting the munchkins sneak in front of me...

To high five the wrestlers...

The biggest irony was a “special” one...

If you get my drift...

And know that I teach the “special” ones...

This guy was in heaven...

In his bright orange John Cena shirt...

And toting his championship belt...

He wanted in the ring...

Couldn’t do that...

But I did let him sit in my seat for a few mins...

And let him slide in front of me after the matches...

He loved it...

And Mom was appreciative...

Hey...

I’m 57 years old...

It’s all about the kids...

The next thing about being at ringside...

Is that you get to see the wrestlers miss their moves...

One got his head bounced on the mat...

The hands smacked the mat...

But the head was far from it...

My wife heard Beth Phoenix tell Nikki Bella to...

“Get on my leg...”

Just before the Glamazon gave her a knee lift...

The highlight of the evening was the Miz...

His monologue was Rocky-esque...

Truly magnificent...

I was laughing my head off...

He fought R-Truth...

Who was equally entertaining...

Lots of Little Jimmys in the audience...

Including my autistic friend...

Whose name...

Ironically...

Is...

Jimmy...

I couldn’t believe it...

But Mom confirmed it...

And speaking of...

Momma...

He opened the show...

Brodus Clay...

“My bad...”

And he was in there for more than a drink of water...

Against...

Jennifer Hudson’s husband...

True...

David Otunga is Mr. Jennifer Hudson...

He’s gonna be a big star some day...

Lots of talent...

It was nice to Ryback back in action...

Formerly Skip Sheffield...

The guy is a side of beef...

Eve Torres was weak..

Whining and crying...

Is there anybody funnier than Santino???

I especially love the trombone...

One of the best moments...

Was Chris Jericho’s interaction with a fan...

Who had an...

“I will wrestle you” sign...

Absolutely hilarious...

And priceless...

The finale was a triple threat match...

Punk...

Kane...

Dolph Ziggler...

Who thought he was being real cool...

And slowly backed into Kane...

And immediately got clobbered...

Nice job of melodrama by Ziggy...

Jericho was the outside ring enforcer...

All in all a fun night...

The matches were predictably predictable...

But there were surprises...

Oh yeah...

That main event featured wrestling’s oldest schtick...

Ref gets knocked out...

Punk pins Ziggler for a week and a half...

Jericho refuses to do the three count...

Ref wakes up just in time...

And Punk wins...

It was fun...

Thanks, Miss Kim...

I hope you enjoyed the report...

How Sports Can Help, If Only a Little

Tags: Chardon Hilltoppers High School Basketball

Thursday night the Chardon Hilltoppers took to the Basketball Court for their Division 1 Sectional game...It was the first school event since 3 Chardon students were killed and two others wounded, and a community shaken by the actions of one student Monday morning...

I'm not going to talk about the shooter, and why the hell he would do what he did...There's no good reason...I've heard all about his tough life and his personality, and I don't give a shit...There's no reason for what he did...

The Chardon community is a close one, and this tragic event has brought them closer...And it has brought out the best in the people of North East Ohio...Pictured above are Chardon players in red...In the Black Chardon shirts are the players from Madison...They took the floor in black warm-up pants and those shirts...And the players stood together for the pre-game ceremonies...Once the game started, the Madison players in there blue uniforms, decided to wear red socks...

The gym in Euclid was packed...And everyone was wearing Chardon Red and Black in some way, shape, or form...Chardon students took 4 buses to get there, in a massive show of unity...Madison Cheerleaders had red and black ribbons in their hair...And instead of the two schools cheer squads standing at opposite sides, they stood together...

It didn't matter that Chardon won 78-59...For the first time this week, there were smiles...There was cheering...And there was a distraction from the madness and sadness that started Monday morning...

Friday the students returned to school, but they showed us Thursday that they would do so as one heart...

And all of North East Ohio is rooting for them.
