Turbo coffee Tuesday
Category: FEATURED

 Tuesday after a holiday,
extra strong coffee today with a turbo shot.

The Red Sox won 95 regular season games, the Red Sox won 0 post season games.

My Red Sox chicken was flavored with bitter herbs.

The Angels were the better team. And some folks are happy about it....right Fan? I'd like to see them knock off the Yankees.....but then again who wouldn't?

In the battle of Hoodies at Mile high, little Hoodie Josh out coached big Hoodie Bill in the 2nd half and got a much deserved 20-17 OT win.
Denver my friends, at 5-0 is for real.
Kyle Orton! why not Broncs!
Next week they can put the division nearly out of reach if they beat San Diego.

Last thoughts on the '09 Red Sox:

Clay Buchholz, Jon Lester, Josh Beckett and Dice K make for a decent four fifths of a rotation. The Sox need to go after Halliday with a wide open wallet in the off season. No more Brad Pennys and John Smoltzes!
Beckett is entering his option year in the contract that will pay him $13,000,000 in 2010.

Billy Wagner is a free agent and will go back to the NL
Jason Veritek has an option for 3 mil. he should retire.
Tim Wakefield has an option for 4 mil. he should retire

Alex Gonzalez should be back at ss.
SIGN Jason Bay asap....he won't look good in pinstripes replacing the aging Jonny Damon in left at Yankee Stadium.

David Ortiz is entering a contract year....will he hit .238 again?

Is Papelbon more hot air than substance? 2010 will tell.

Daniel Bard was the most pleasant surprise of 2010.
still can't get the taste of the bitter herbs out of my mouth!

Part two:

Our perception isn't always truth.

I started this piece thinking I would dispel the perception that Bill Belichick and Scott Peoli were the masters of the draft and that, in reality, they were just  hit or miss with random success at guruing the draft.

What I found in my research was...

Belichick and Peoli were the master drafting duo in the NFL.

2000 with ten picks they got #199 Tom Brady
and a note of intrest, Adailus Thomas was picked at #189 by Baltimore.

2001 with 9 picks, they got,
#6   Richard Seymour (worth next year 1st rounder from Raiders
and current starting Left Tackle #48 Matt Light

2002 with six picks, #21 Daniel Graham TE, #65 Deion Branch WR Super bowl 39 MVP who both left as free agents and at # 126  current starting DE Jarvis Green.

2003 with eight picks, #13 Ty Warren current starting DE and #164 Dan Koppen current starting center. a forth rounder named Asante Samuel wasn't bad either.

2004 with eight picks, #21 Vince Wilfork current starting NT and #32 Ben Watson s current starting TE

2005 with six picks, #32 Logan Mankins current starting OG ,#100 Nick Kaczur current starting OT and ,#133 James Sanders current starting safety

2006 with ten picks, #21 Lawrence Maroney RB and #118 Steven Gostkowski one of the top kickers in the NFL.

2007 with nine picks,#24 Brandon Merriweather starting safety and they traded a fourth rounder to Oakland for Randy Moss, and traded their 2nd and seventh for Wes Welker

2008 with eight picks #10 Jerrod Mayo, defensive rookie of the year and starting middle linebacker, #63 Terrence Wheatly CB,#120 Jonathan Whilite CB and special teamer #153 Matt Slater.

16 current starters including Randy Moss and Wes Welker in draft pick trades and Oakland's first pick in 2011.
I guess they were a good tandem.

Harry's top TEN....I mean fifteen......

1. Giants 5-0
2. Colts  5-0
3. Saints 4-0
4. Broncos 5-0
5. Vikings 5-0
6. Bengals 4-1
7. Eagles  3-1
8. Bears    3-1
9. Patriots 3-2
10. Falcons 3-1
11. Ravens  3-2
12. Jets    3-2
13. Steelers3-2
14. Forty Niners 3-2
15. Dolphins 3-2

One last thing....Harry's political gripes for the week,
-I am still against Govt. run healthcare.
the government can't run any private sector business well.
-Either send the 40,000 troops requested to Afghanistan or bring all of the troops home.

Thanks for reading and thanks for your comments.
