It's that time once again to start finding the ways to hate on Terrell Owens, it isn't hard, he actually makes it quite easy, just open up a newspaper or watch a segment of Sportscenter. The temper-mental headcase, who up until now has appeared to be just fine with the Big "D" has again become unraveled and discontented with his use on the field. It seems that he's under the impression that Tony Romo, you know HIS boohoo QB and tight end Jason Whitten are holding covert meetings and drawing up plays on cocktail napkins. Only one problem, T.O. isn't being invited nor made privy to what's on tap.
The numbers really don't give that much indication there's a favorite on the field. Whitten is slightly ahead on a football scale, that's it. Maybe it's only been something in the last two weeks, for T.O. that's a life time. So are things shaping up already for an implosion in Dallas with this guy? I'm thinking it's very possible and when will it happen? This Sunday if they lose to the Giants! He'll throw the entire team under the bus, he won't be crying for his QB, he just might be screaming for Jason Garrett to get the nod for the head coaching position. If this week is the end of the season for Dallas, Jerry Jones just might go tell ole' Weeble to spice up the resume' and he'll find a way to give him some sort of reference, perhaps, yeah, he worked here for a couple of seasons. I can't go into it any further with you. So much for Philips and his tenure.
At my last address I was promised an interview with the tool from hell. There was a question that both fragnoli and I had down to ask him and it was - What makes this stop in your career, playing in Dallas so much better than playing in either S.F. or Philly? Well I got boned on the interview, and good thing, his answer would have been some sound bite that I'd be adding right here and I'm quite sure it wouldn be that he found a place he fits in to and the system works for him, the team understands him. That's the sound bite answer. The reality is the Cowboys cowtow to his every whim, he cries, they pamper. The Cowboys have been that way with their Star's before, hell they're like that with their player's under indictment!
The Cowboys came into the season cocky, and with the Patriots losing Brady, Manning having a quiet season, what looked to be a season to get the boys out of the playoff drought now looks to be moving in a direction of more offseason headaches. That's what happens in Dallas. The offseason is sometimes more controversial than the season itself. This was coming, in a month, a season, 3 years, it was inevitable and him saying there are no issues is the biggest bunch of garbage. In the last few games he really hasn't had the big looks. He had the 12 yard TD last week, but didn't really play much of a factor. Whitten ended up not collecting a pass that was returned for the winning TD and he proceeded to take the bullet and blamed the loss only himself. When was the last time you saw Owens do that? Exactly! About a month ago, after crying he didn't get enough touches following a game he had 17 catches on 20 passes, Owens came out to do damage control and said it has nothing to do with the amount of passes, he just feels he's the play maker, the only one when you listen to him. Is he selfish, absolutely, does he trip all over himself, Ocho Loco learned from the best, he's quite the role model for locker room drama, he's mastered it. Just like S.F. and Philly, when it really starts heating up, the sound bytes get louder and with more frequency, the trend has shown he is a ticking time bomb and the cameras are on him 24/7 just waiting. Be patient, it's coming.
We know the characters of the play, so get your popcorn ready and tune in for not only the show but the press conferences afterward. It will be entertaining, and the barbs will be a flying from the podium!
