NFL - I just feel incredibly lucky that I took Pittsburgh and Cincinnati in my survivor game earlier in the year. Honestly, how the hell do two of the best teams in the AFC lose to the Chiefs and Raiders of all teams? That's just disgraceful, but it does show that Cincinnati's offense is much better with Cedric Benson. In other news, Brett Favre went off on Seattle's defense (what a surprise), Green Bay has now beat Dallas and San Francisco in back to back weeks coming off a loss to Tampa Bay (yay), New Orleans and Indianapolis remain undefeated (I feel Indy is lucky), Denver now sucks, Cutler threw another interception to cap another Bears loss, and the best game of the day was to see who sucked less (Cleveland vs Detroit, Detroit won).
NHL - The Blackhawks have now won 7 straight. Bryan Bickell scored the loan goal against Vancouver on Sunday while Antti Niemi played lights out and shut out the Canucks in a game Chicago should have honestly lost (they were playing back to back games). This win came off 7-1 and 5-2 wins over Calgary and Edmonton respectively. Even better is that Marian Hossa is expected to make his debut with the Hawks on Wednesday against the Sharks, a team the Hawks beat in OT a week ago. Not to mention that Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane, and Duncan Keith are all still really close to signing extensions.
College Football - Fire Charlie Weis, Fire John Tenuda. I can't stand it anymore. The only two defensive players that ever show up are Kyle McCarthy and Sergio Brown with an occasional glimpse of brightness from Manti Te'o. This team simply can't rely on Jimmy Clausen, Golden Tate, Michael Floyd, and Armando Allen every week. I want Brian Kelly! In other news, can some miracle please happen that allows TCU to get into the National Title game, I believe they are the best team in the nation.
NASCAR - Well, it happened. Mark Martin never really was in contention at Homestead and Johnson ran solidily all day capping off his 4th consecutive championship with a 5th place finish. My thoughts: Fuck Jimmie Johnson. Oh, and NASCAR seriously needs to use better, less boring tracks in the Chase. I believe I could offer them a solution to all the trouble they're encountering, and it would start with MORE FUCKING SHORT TRACK RACES! In other news, Denny Hamlin won the race, not to mention on Saturday in the Nationwide race, he lived up to his word and spun Brad Keselowski. There is certainly a rivalry there no matter how much Keselowski attempts to deny it. There might also be one brewing between Juan Montoya and Tony Stewart. Kyle Busch also won the Nationwide championship (and the Nationwide race).
UFC - The Hunnington Beach Bad Boy, Tito Ortiz lost a split decision to Forrest Griffin in the main event of UFC 106 from Las Vegas. While Griffin's win wasn't as controversial as Randy Couture's at UFC 105, or Lyoto Machida's at UFC 104, UFC President Dana White still acknowledged that the judging has been bad lately, pretty much saying that it was a joke that one judge scored the fight 30-27 for Griffin. The co-main event saw Josh Koscheck submit Anthony "Rumble" Johnson via 2nd Round Read Naked Choke. Koscheck went on to call out #1 contender in welterweight, Dan Hardy after the match. Like it or not, Kos, Hardy deserves that fight more than you, and both of you will lose to GSP. Not to mention I think Jon Fitch deserves a rematch before you considering he will be a rather big favorite over Mike Pierce at UFC 107. Last but not least, one of the last Pride fighters to debut in the UFC was Little Nog, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. Little Nog defeated Luiz Cane via 1st Round TKO (punches).
That's all for this time. I'll end on this note - Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving (and let's hope the Packers win).
