  That's how I like them...Pasty-white...Boots...Short skirt...Mouth wide open and ready...Ahhh, the good ole days...

The past week I have been all over the Penn State mess...A serious topic, that I take very personally...When I sat down to write this Monday's post I didn't really want to get into that...But I'm sitting here unsure of what to write about...

I was work during the first half of the Browns game...On my way home, I noticed my one neighbor who is always got a group of people watching the game in his pimped out garage, and grilling away, wasn't open for business today...Maybe more and more people are feeling like me...Why waste our time on this garbage team...Instead of watching the second half, the Little Beeze and I went outside and tossed the football around...

Later in the evening on the phone with my brother, I found out the Browns lost in another new, and fucking retarded way...Yep, Mike Polk was right last week...

I saw the Ravens lost to the Seahawks...What a fucking Jekyll and Hyde team that is...Holy Shit, the Browns even beat the Seahawks!

The Fighting Irish rolled Maryland Saturday night...I was glad to see that, but I expected it...The Terps suck...Andrew Luck may have blown his Heisman chances, as he and his Stanford teammates got taken to school by Oregon...Every one's favorite team to hate, Boise State lost to TCU...Second year in a row that Kellen Moore and crew had their hopes dashed because their kicker choked on a big fat one...

The UFC was on FOX Saturday night...And well, they blew it...30 minutes of hype instead of an under card or two...Then the main event...1 minute and change later, it was over...Not the best way to sell the product to people who don't know it well...

Okay, so I crashed hard into a wall of writer's block...So if you missed any of my posts from last week I'll link you up...

The National Title Picture Could Become Really Cloudy

So, the "game of the century" wrapped up in overtime with LSU prevailing over Alabama by a score of 9-6. I'm not surprised in the least that it was a defensive battle, but the game really came down to Alabama only converting on 2 of 6 field goal attempts. With such a close game, there are going to be numerous people calling for a rematch come bowl season, but will it happen?

The Contenders

  • LSU - As of right now, LSU is in the drivers seat following their win against the Crimson Tide. Unless the Tigers were to lose a game somewhere down the road, they're going to be playing for the National Title.
  • Oklahoma State - The Cowboys hung on to beat a tough Kansas State team by a score of 52-45. Kansas State had a chance to win it, but couldn't convert in the red zone as time expired. We already know their offense can outgun just about anyone in the country, but they have a tough test coming up against Oklahoma in three weeks. With Alabama's loss, the Cowboys are likely to move up to #2 in the rankings for the time being.
  • Stanford - Stanford has the offensive capabilities being led by Heisman favorite Andrew Luck, but after a close call against USC last week in a triple overtime thriller, how will the Cardinals fare against the Oregon Ducks next week?
  • Boise State - The school voters love to hate. Boise doesn't play the strongest schedule by any means, but they've always come to play when it matters, especially in the bowl games. Will Boise State finally get some love from the rankings if the teams in front of the Broncos falter?
  • Alabama - Alabama isn't going to fall too far down the rankings with a loss to LSU, and people are definitely going to be calling for a rematch between arguable the two best teams in the country. That said, if Oklahoma State, Stanford, or Boise State remain undefeated, Alabama shouldn't vault over them. They still have an outside chance at the National Title.
  • Oklahoma - In three weeks they will play their biggest game against one of college football's best offenses in Oklahoma State. Can Oklahoma beat their in-state rivals? If they do, they'll surely receive a lot of love in the polls, but their story is the same as Alabama's. Even if they win, a one-loss team shouldn't vault over teams with no losses.

In a few weeks, hopefully this will all be cleared up. That said, if teams like Stanford and Oklahoma State falter, this could become really messy.

Well, once again, the landscape of college football as changed. Unfortunately for this fan, it was changing at the wrong end. Now, granted, Boise State probably wasn't going to get a National Championship bid, but I still would have liked to see them in a BCS game. That's all an afterthought now, after the Broncos were handed a loss by Colin Kapernick and the Nevada Wolfpack. Costly misses by the Boise kicker ultimately choked away a BCS bid, so now its up to the TCU Horned Frogs to represent the mid-majors well in the BCS.

As for the National Championship game, it sure looks like we're going to get a Oregon-Auburn game. I really can't say I like either team, but having family in Alabama and them being strictly Tide loving and Auburn hating sways my decision to go with Oregon, especially because I'm tired of all these recruiting scandals, with Cam Newton has been at the forefront of for the last few month. So go Ducks, you and your 12 different uniforms.

We have a bunch of huge matchups in the NFL this weekend. The Jets vs Patriots and Ravens vs Steelers will try to help us settle who truly is the best team in the AFC at this point. In the NFC, we have a battle in the South between Atlanta and Tampa Bay. Its a better match then most people think, but I have to take Atlanta coming off a huge win over Green Bay. Speaking of my Packers, the injuries are still piling up, but its going to be neck and neck the rest of this season to see who wins the NFC North with Chicago. I'm still worried though, because the 2nd place teams in the North, South, and East will be battling for only two spots. I just pray the Packers make it in.

Jumping to the NBA for my quick take on Lebron coming back to Cleveland. Not surprise at the disdain the Cleveland fans scored for James, but I can't seem to respect the way he acted either. James acted like a total douche in pretty much taunting the fans of Cleveland. Its safe to say that Akron does not miss you, Mr. James. And you better hope your so-called talents actually start helping the Heat, because South Beach is looking pretty mediocre right about now.

Now jumping to the NHL. Its safe to say, there's another goalie controversy in Chicago. Stemming from last's years battle for #1 status between Antti Niemi and Cristobal Huet, it seems there Corey Crawford has taken the battle to Marty Turco for net supremacy. Not only does it seem that the Hawks play better as a whole in front of Crawford, but the team actually wins when he's in net, something they did for Niemi but not Huet last season. I could see Crawford eventually becoming the #1 in Chicago before this season is up seeing as how Turco just got his first start in approximately two weeks against Vancouver, and he recorded a 3-0 loss. In other NHL news, as much as I despise Sidney Crosby, "The Kid" is on a major hot streak right now with 8 points in 4 games (including a hat trick against Atlanta) and is nearing in on a 50 in 50 pace (though I doubt he'll sustain that). For what its worth, Crosby is also 2 goals ahead of Steven Stamkos at this moment, when most thought it would be Stamkos having the best chance at going for 50 in 50.

Last weekend I didn't write, but Jimmie Johnson won his fifth straight NASCAR championship. I hate Jimmie Johnson, and NASCAR knows it needs to do some major reformatting to the Chase. That is all.

Lastly, in MMA news, we had two MMA promotions on Saturday, with Strikeforce throwing out Henderson vs Babalu and UFC throwing out The Ultimate Fighter Finale. In Strikeforce, there were some vicious knockouts (Henderson KO'd Babalu, Paul Daley KO'd Scott Smith, and Antonio Silva KO'd Mike Kyle), but the big controversy of the night occurred on the UFC side of thing. The first fight on the card was TUF semifinalist Nam Phan vs WEC (now UFC) lightweight Leonard Garcia. A hefty majority of the fans, observers at home (based on what I read), Phan himself, and even Joe Rogan thought Phan won all three rounds, and if not, at least enough to win the fight. I, along with many others, don't see how two judges score it 29-28 for Garcia, yet one scores it 30-27 for Phan. Phan was robbed, and poor judging once again took center stage away from the fighters. So, clearly, something needs to be done about the judging system, or the judges in general. In other TUF news, the finalists Jonathan  Brookins and Michael Johnson faced off. The fight went three rounds, and while Johnson dominated Brookins with standup in the first, Brookins took it to the ground in the next two rounds and wound up the unanimous decision winner 29-28 to earn the UFC contract, though I'm sure MJ will be picked up as well, as TUF contestants often are.

Now that's how you drop and gobble!

Yes, It's Monday again...Monday after all the Thanksgiving madness...And the "Black Friday" insanity...Time was spent with 3 of the 4 F's...Food, Family, and Football...Fucking wasn't on the table for the Beeze this weekend, with all that family around!

We went to the in-laws house in Erie, PA Wednesday night and we got to spend some quality time with my wife's one sister and her family, who came in from Boston...Her husband is a great guy, and their two kids are great...And they are awesome with my two kids...It's amazing how much my 6 year old boy has in common with my 14 year old nephew...They also had their new puppy with them, which kept the little Beeze fire up all weekend...He fell in love with that dog...

My wife's brother was there too, and I always have fun with him...The food was good, the football was good, and to hell with that "Black Friday" nonsense! Of course, like every trip there, my father-in-law, pissed off my wife, which of course pissed me off to the point where I wanted to drag him outside and throw him a beating...But I calmed down, and we decided, it would be best for all of us if we got the hell out of there Saturday, instead of Sunday...

I was on edge a lot of time already, with my boy and the dog running all over the place, since the house is filled with clutter, and way too much useless, breakable stuff...Each night I went to sleep thankful that nothing, and nobody got broken...
How was your Turkey day?

I hope it was better than Chuck's...My God that little angry, closeted, dyke, pissed me off! Ole Charlie Brown should have pistol whipped that bitch!

So onto sports...

There's been a lot of talk about
LeBron_Coming_Back_to_Cleveland on Thursday...There could be no greater joy than him blowing out both his knees that night...I got into it with my Father-in-law about LeBron this Thursday...He feels that us people in Cleveland are giving him a bad rap, and have no reason to be pissed at him...This is funny, because the man will tell you he doesn't know shit about sports...I of course got heated, and broke down why LeBron is a douche, as I have so many times before...But if that isn't enough, here's more proof...

Looks like another coach LeBron will be getting fired!

Friday night, my brother-in-law and I stayed up late watching a great football game...Boise State at Nevada...After the first half, I thought the Broncos had it...But Nevada battled back...They shut down the Boise running game, and started putting up some points...With little time left, they take the lead...Boise gets the ball back with and with 9 seconds, Kellen Moore throws a bomb to Titus Young, to set up the game winning field goal...

Then kicker Kyle Brotzman did this...

I honestly could tell if he missed it or not, but he didn't put up a fight, so i guess that says it all...But even worse...In overtime, he missed another one...I wonder if they made him walk home after that?

Now I know the Boise Haters are loving this, and they'll love dogging me, because I've been all about Boise State for a few years now...All I have to say is, so fucking what...That's football...Good, and even great teams lose sometimes...Nevada is a hell of a team, and they pulled it out that night...Would Auburn have been a shitty team if they lost to Alabama Friday? (which they almost did) No, they still would have been an excellent team...So you can keep you anti-Boise hostility, they're still a quality program, that I'd put my money on, against anyone...

Saturday, Ohio State Beat Michigan, again...Rivalries really start to suck, when they become so one-sided...But there was a highlight for me...Stupidity was on display in this one...After a touchdown DeVier Posey flashed his special gloves Nike made to go with their special uniforms, and got a 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty...

Well it's good to see the NCAA and the people providing uniforms are on the same page...What other reason would these gloves be made, than to flash in your opponents face!?! Fucking dolts!

Speaking of rivalries that have been one-sided...I was looking forward to seeing the Fighting Irish turn things around against USC this week...Since we left Erie Saturday afternoon, I got to enjoy the Notre Dame, USC game in my own home, without my father-in-law constantly yapping about things he knows nothing of...

The Irish had lost 8 straight, and all I wanted was a win...I didn't care how, they did it, I just can't stand losing to the USC twats anymore!

Thankfully, Notre Dame pulled it out 20-16...The defense stepped up all night long...Then there was running back Robert Hughes, who rushed for 69 yards and a touchdown...late in the game he became the go-to guy, and I'm sure I wasn't the only Irish fan wondering why we haven't seen more of him this year...

The Irish end the season 7-5 and will going to a bowl game...While I'm happy they finished strong, this isn't the season I expected...There is some excellent talent on this squad, and I felt they should have done better...Yes, there are plenty of positives for coach Kelly to build on for next year...If he has a next year...Between the Declan Sullivan death and the Elizabeth Seeburg suicide after alleging she was raped by a Notre Dame football player, I wouldn't be surprised to see Kelly get shit-canned...

Sunday, was filled with getting ready to get back to the grind...And the Browns game...Peyton Hillis handed out a beating to the Panthers defense...

Hillis carried the ball 26 times for 131 yards and 3 touchdowns, and had 6 receptions for 63 yards, helping the Browns to 24-23 victory...It shouldn't have been that close, but QB Jake Delhomme was doing everything in his power, to try and help his old team win...I can't believe I'm going to say this...You would have never heard it at the start of the year...My God I hope Colt McCoy gets healthy and comes back soon! Hell give us back Seneca Wallace! Delhomme Sucks!

That's it for now...Keep your eyes open for a special feature on Peyton Hillis, and why he a better representative for Cleveland sports, than LeBron James ever was...

Have a week...

Later The Beeze.

My beef with Boise State
Category: NCAA
Tags: NCAA Football Boise State TCU Wisconsin LSU Alabama Auburn

i got home a little early on this Friday night, and got home and flipped the channel to the World Wide Leader.

i'd like to watch Boise State games, I really would.  however, when they're winning 34-0 in the third quarter, its hard to want to watch.

instead, i watched the end of a great pro basketball game between the Chicago Bulls and Dallas Mavericks, it was a tight game, between two quality teams, that came down to make plays at the end of the game, Chicago made more and won the game.

which brings me to my problem with Boise State, and also TCU, and whoever may be the rouge team three years from now...

when you wipe your inferior conference opponets, and none of your games are close, how are you to establish a fan base?

how are we to know that you're good enough to play for it all?

at least with Auburn, they are playing good teams every week, against teams with a depth of talent, where the games are at least competitive, and there is at least a chance, that the undefeated team may loose.

not when you watch the Broncos.  i think i heard that there 20 first half points were the fewest they scored all season; how do we know that Boise State QB is any good, when he's playing ahead by three touchdowns every week?

if the Univeristy of Wisconsin ends up winning the Big 10, they will have done it by beating two quality opponets in Ohio State and Iowa, while suffering a loss to another good team in Michigan State.  what are the good teams that Boise has had to play in Conference?  when you play good teams, there are going to be close games, and I don't care who you are, nobody Wins ALL the close games, and when you don't have to play anybody good enough to play you close, it's just not as significant.

if the Badgers do finish out the season, they'd need to defeat two 7-3 teams in Michigan and Northwestern to do it, both of which probably have better players than a Nevada team who is Boise's toughest remaining game.

~~~~
i absouletely belive that Boise State and TCU deserve their spot in a BCS bowl, and i do not mean to shit on what should be pefect seasons by both schools, and believe they both got screwed last year by having to play each other (a game i didn't watch and don't know who won).
i blame the system more than either team, and as good as they are, i just don't want to see either play for the National Championship, i hope this helps explain why.
peace.
