The Giants win the Pennant...the Giants win the Pennant!

Greetings from the Hoodwood, where your humble scribe is feeling better having dodged strep and a nasty cold.

MLB: Tigers send Bombers packing, can the Giants rally again.

The Tigers were the one team that when the season started folks were sure that they were going to be the power brokers of the AL, signing Prince Fielder to team with the smooth hitting of Miguel Cabrera and the lethal one-two punch of Justin Verlander and Max Scherzer. The Tigers were expected to dominated not only their division but expected to have one of the best records in baseball, but they just…didn’t they? No wait they struggled to win the AL Central and needed a vicious September swoon by the White Sox to do it. The critics snickered at their 88 wins and fully expected the surging young A’s to take them out in the ALDS but the Tigers shrugged and jumped out a 2-0 lead after the change of venue let the A’s slug their way back into the series. But with the hammer in Verlander pitching a four hitter the Tigers moved on to face the Yankees. Despite blowing a four run lead in the 9th the Tigers won game one in extra innings and then after winning game two, looked pretty much invincible. It was funny to see the so-called mighty Yankees go out with whimper and A-Rod looking more and more like the fraud he is. The Tigers will face the Giants who rallied from a 3-1 deficit to clip the Cards who were getting cockier by the game and had the media just eating out of their hand. I tell you if I heard Tim Kurkjian or Buster Olney wax about how they had the “Champs mentality” one more time, I was going to puke. The Cards scored all off one run in the final three games of the series, went 1-22 with runners in scoring position, their vaunted pitching has come apart and their defense has gone south in the worst possible way allowing 10 unearned runs. The Cards are looking more like the team that never was in any kind of divisional contention during most of the regular season

College Football:  Bearcat shame, Bucks wriggle out again

I really did have a bad feeling about this past weeks game. The Bearcats heading up I-75 to face Toledo, who a 6-1 was playing really good after an opening loss at Arizona. The Bearcats fell behind 13-0 the galling score a pick 6, but after rallying to take a 20-19, gave up a 90 yard kickoff return for a touchdown. After all that the Bearcats still had a chance to salvage the game to make the nightmare go away and got picked off to end the game. The Bearcats lost 29-23 and were summarily booted from the top 25. Now Im a realist, I know the Bearcats would never contend for a national title. But this was a top 25 team that was starting to get some respect, losing to a MAC team especially after blowing one out in Miami of Ohio a couple weeks ago is shameful. They need to get their act together and shut down another cocky Cardinal team in Louisville.

Now talking about cocky, the Ohio State University is on a mission to play an unbeaten season and crow like the 1993 Auburn team that they were the real national titlist. That Auburn team was also on probation and barred from postseason play, they went undefeated and beat their hated rival in their season ending game. They couldn’t be ranked in the coaches poll, but they went unbeaten and talked all about how they would have been the national title winners had they been allowed to. The Ohio State University is doing much of the same thing nearly two decades later. The Bucks have won their first seven games but after winning beating Indiana in a shootout, they fell behind Purdue 22-14 and looked like that they were going to take their first loss. Things looked even bleaker with the loss of phenom QB Braxton Miller but behind super sub Kenny Guyton the Bucks rallied and tied the game with two seconds in regulation. After scoring first in OT, the Bucks held the Boilers on downs and had a thrilling win. Since Hoodwood has relocated, I hear more about the Bucks than I really care to and the Buck fans here are complaining about their defense and how this team stacks up to the national title team of 2002. But the Bucks are going nowhere but home after they play Michigan. I don’t care if the Bucks win all of their games, they mean nothing. My Bearcats will likely play in a bowl, I can take comfort knowing that the Bucks won’t.

Phat Dap/Head Slap

Phat Dap

I know it sounds silly this week, but hell its my column Phat Dap to me for going 11-2 in my NFL picks this week. I know the football gods will punish me but damn its good to get a week where they almost all went the way I said they would.

Head Slap

Head Slap to Emmanuel  Sanders of the Pittsburgh Steelers who in the 4th quarter of their game Sunday Night with the Bengals faked some sort of leg injury to keep the Steelers from burning a time out. Sanders limped off the field, but was well enough to get right back on the field after sitting out all of one play to down a pooch kick by Ben Roethlisberger. The Monday Night Countdown crew called out Sanders on his “injury”

Sorry for another short one, but its been that kind of week. I will take a look at the NFL at the halfway point and the Giants/Tigers Fall Classic. I think it will be a classic. Until next post fellow sports fans!

Here we are again...Looking down the barrel of another long, work week...I'm really starting to get tired of how quickly the weekends fly by...But then again, maybe the weekends won't get past me as quick, once I'm not sitting in the cold rain, watching my local Brooklyn Hurricanes High School football team, play like shit...Browns fans are pretty unhappy with Pat Shurmur...And we'll get to him later, but this high school coach is a complete fuck-tard...

Then there are the parents who were screaming at the refs Friday night, after a 30+ yard TD run was called back for holding...Well, I know you're parents and I get you supporting the kids, but if the D-lineman is dragging an O-lineman who is clutching at the back of his jersey...IT"S FUCKING HOLDING! This team isn't win-less because of the refs...They lack size, experience, talent, discipline, and good coaching...Bitch at the coaches for only having 10 men on the field far too often...Bitch at the coaches for not teaching them to zone block properly, or not hold...Blame the coaches for not working more with Johnny Throw Another Pick...

Holy shit, I just defended refs!

-Then comes Saturday, which I spend a ton of time watching College Football...And then going through College Football notes, to decide what I'll write about for Sunday's WRAP_UP...

Although this Saturday we started the day at Toys-R-Us...The Little Beeze had a few gift cards burning a hole in his pocket, from his birthday...He loaded up on some Club Penguin toys, and some Angry Birds...he also let his older sister get a doll...Pretty cool of an 8 year old boy to do...He also grabbed some Angry Birds Star Wars toys...But they couldn't ring them up...They informed us that they aren't allowed to sell them yet...So answer me this..."WHY THE FUCK DO YOU HAVE A HUGE SHELF FULL OF THESE TOYS, IF YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO SELL THEM YET!?!"

They apologized, and then we were asked to leave...Fuck them!

-Sunday, I did yard work during the Browns game...It finally wasn't raining, and shit needed to get done...And I decided I'd rather watch the Patriots/Jets game, then watch the Browns lay another steaming pile of shit...

Last week Fatty, Walrus, Holmgren was shown the door....Sadly, in a polite way...He was given the chance to say he's retiring after this year, and will help with the transition that is going on...GM Tom Heckert has been looking for a job since the news of the sale broke in August...And after what I heard on the radio from fans Sunday, and what I saw on Twitter...Pat Shurmur better start looking, because if the new boss Jimmy Haslan doesn't run him out of here soon, the fans will...Dude, you lost to the Colts...From what I saw, Weeden played well...better then Luck...But the Browns only ran it 17 times, for 55 yards...What the fuck did they draft Trent Richardson for? we already have water boys!

Unreal...

As for the Patriots, they beat the Jets 29-26...While it's a win, it's disappointing...The Pats defense better start knuckling up, because giving up 26 to the shitty Jets is just bad...

-Hey the Red Sox have a new manager...Their former pitching coach under Francona...They traded an average SS to the Blue Jays for their manager...What the fuck is that...I'll tell you what that is...That's making the fans happy, because it's a guy they like and know...And it's making the players happy, because it's a guy they like and know...Fuck everything else...One year of headaches was enough!

-The latest BCS Rankings came out Sunday night...There has been a slight change that will get some people in the Pacific Northwest upset...Here's the top 5...

1. Alabama...2. Florida...3. Kansas State...4. Oregon...5. Notre Dame...Honestly, at the start of the season, I looked at Alabama as the best team out there...But these rankings are suppose to be based on a number of things, and Alabama hasn't played much of a schedule yet...Especially compared to Kansas State, Florida, and Notre Dame...Oregon is an offensive power-house, but their defense has shown squat so far, so any crying they're doing can stop until they stop some one...I would have K-State above Florida and 'Bama, but I can accept Florida ahead of them...This season wasn't expected from them, and thrashing South Carolina this week proved they've earned it so far...Things are going to be interesting...

But the slight that would have me pissed if I lived in Oregon, would be the fact that the undefeated Oregon State Beavers are sitting at 7, behind LSU...That is just fucking garbage...These asshole continue to overrate LSU...Undefeated Miss State should be ahead of LSU instead of at 11...

The 7-0 Ohio University Bobcats finally made it in at 24...Still too low, but at least some people are taking notice...

(16) Louisville and (15) Rutgers didn't move up as much as they hoped after Temple gave Rutgers and early scare, and and USF gave Louisville a late scare...

-So I was watching the Steelers and Bengals game...It went to a commercial...There's Brad Pitt standing there...Talking...Sounding all deep, and spiritual, like he's about to hit us with some serious shit, that only a Hollywood douchebag can clue us in on...But then it ended...

Are you fucking kidding me!?! Even my wife broke off a "What the fuck!"

Seriously...Are all those adopted kids making things that tight, that you're being all deep, and emotional about Chanel No. 5....You know what dude...Put a fucking dick in your mouth and choke on the load!

The only thing that made me more disgusted with TV today was a commercial for a show called "South Beach Tow"...

Is this really what our world has come to...A so-called reality show about obnoxious douchebags towing cars...Everyone in this show looks like people who get fired from dish washing jobs...Enough with the not-so-reality TV...Lets get back to writing, and filming quality shows...And History Channel, lets get back to History, instead of assholes in a pawn shop...It scares me, what America is becoming...

That's it for now...Have a week...

Saturday afternoon brought a match up between two Heisman hopefuls...Two Big-12 QB's...(#13...all rankings used this week reflect the BCS rankings) West Virginia's Geno Smith, was looking to lead his team to bounce back win after last week's loss to Texas Tech...Standing in his way was my Heisman sleeper, (#4) Kansas State QB, Collin Klein and the undefeated Wildcats...

I was expecting this game to be a real battle...K-State has played excellent defense all season, but I thought this game may push them a bit more, especially with WV coming off last weeeek's loss...But instead, it was a blow-out...K-State's defense, and ball control offense dominated...And the domination was lead by Klein...Klein passed for 323 yards and 3 TD's, while also rushing for 41 yards and 4 more TD's...The Wildcats romped, 55-14...

Not to toot my own horn, (okay maybe a little) but I called for RG3 as the Heisman winner last year in my pre-season predictions...And this year, I had Klein as one of my dark-horses...It's time to start paying attention to the Beeze kids...I've got this shit covered! I also called for K-State to shock the Big-12 this year, and they're doing that people...

Sticking in the Big-12, we may have this week's No Defense Bowl...(#17) Texas Tech was back at racking up points...This week against (#23) TCU...Tech QB Seth Doege was looking to pick up where he left off last week...This week he threw for 318 yards and 7 TD's in a triple overtime thriller...With his Red Raiders squeaking out a 56-53 victory...

Those two teams just beat out Texas and Baylor in points, as Texas held on to beat the Bears 56-50...They love scoring in the Big-12!

In the SEC, (#7) South Carolina went to (#2) Florida, looking to save their season after last week's loss to LSU...Instead, Florida killed off the Gamecocks hopes of an SEC title, rolling to a 44-11 win...Actually South Carolina helped the Gators quite a bit, turning the ball over 4 times, and giving the Gators great field position...You can't win on the road doing that...Shit, Spurrier and the 'Cocks, never seem to be able to win on the road...

Then there was the (#6) LSU at (#18) Texas A&M...Everyone was excited to see A&M QB, Johnny Manziel take on LSU's highly-touted defense, after his un-Godly stats last week...And LSU knew stopping Manziel was the key to them winning...Now, when you look at the numbers from this game, you may find yourself scratching your head, and thinking, 'How did LSU win 24-19?' There's only one stat you have to look at...Turnovers: LSU-0...A&M-5...You can gain all the yards you want...You can have less penalties...You can convert 3rd downs all you want...But if you keep coughing up the ball, you're screwed! Fucking Aggies...Way to keep LSU's hopes alive...Dicks!

In the Big-Ten, Michigan may have won a 12-10 snooze fest against Michigan State, but Sparty here looks like the real winner!

Ohio State had a scare Saturday...Well, two actually...First they spent Saturday struggling against Purdue...Then QB Braxton Miller was knocked out of the game, and taken to the hospital...Kenny Guiton helped lead the Buckeyes from behind...Tie the game...And then win it 29-22 in OT...Reports are saying Miller is fine, and was taken to the hospital to be checked out for a concussion...

Now, to the (#5) Notre Dame Fighting Irish, at home taking on BYU...

Lots of people were talking about this game, possibly being a problem for the Irish...1. Coming off the big OT win last week against Stanford, and 2. Looking ahead to next week against Oklahoma...Me, I wasn't concerned about that...Brian Kelly doesn't let his teams look ahead...My concerns were about Everrett Golson not starting/playing after leaving last week's game with a concussion...Kelly started Tommy Rees, and said Golson wouldn't play...They're being careful with the kid, and I can respect that...But with Rees you lose a big chunk of your playbook...He doesn't have the mobility...You also lose Golson's escape-ability, and improv skills...Also with Rees there is the fear of him having his eyes glued to his primary receiver, and throwing picks...

So how did the Irish handle it...They played tough defense and ball-control offense...Even after being down 14-7 at halftime, Kelly stayed patient with the offense, and kept pounding away at BYU...They didn't put it all on Rees to win it...Afterwards, people called the 17-14 Notre Dame win, "ugly"...You know what, if my team rushes the ball for 270 yards, and wins...Fuck you...Call it ugly if you want, but my guys just pounded your ass for 270 on the ground and won...I'd call that an ugly loss for BYU!

Cierre Wood here, gained 114 yards on 18 carries...While Theo Riddick (at the top of this section) rushed for 143 yards on 15 carries...

The Irish are now 7-0 and head to Oklahoma next week, to face the Sooners in prime-time...This, with out a doubt will be the toughest game yet for Notre Dame...Oklahoma has been out to make a statement since their loss to Kansas State...Notre Dame and K-State both play tough D, and ball control offense...This should really be a good game...And I'll bet the TV ratings are going to be huge for ABC...

The Big East was feeling good about having 3 teams in the BCS standings...Well, they lost one for sure this week as (#21) Cincinnati went to the Glass Bowl to face Toledo, and was stunned with a 29-23 loss...The Rockets jumped out to an early 10-0 lead...They were still up at halftime, 16-13...after 3 quarters it Toledo was up 26-20, and held on for the upset victory...

(#16) Louisville also had a bit of a scare as BJ Daniels and the USF Bulls surged late to try and steal one in Louisville...With under 4 minutes left USF went ahead 25-21...But Cardinals QB Teddy Bridgewater brought his team right back and went back on top 27-25 with a minute and a half left...

PAC-12 surprise team (#8) Oregon State remained undefeated after grinding out a 21-7 win over Utah...

The Surprise in the ACC...Besides Virginia Tech sucking...It has to be the fact that Duke...Fucking basketball playing Duke, is 3-1 in conference, and 6-2 overall, and leading the Coastal Division...That said, their next two games at Florida State, and home against Clemson...So their season may come crashing down around them, but still, they're playing football at Duke finally!

That's it for this week...Feel free to give your two cents about the games you were following...

Welcome to another week...First, check out the College Football WRAP_UP...

So after all that, Sunday night the first BCS rankings were released...1. Alabama...2. Florida...3. Oregon...4. Kansas State...5. Notre Dame...I'm okay with those rankings...While 'Bama hasn't played anyone of any significance, they're power-house, and I see them rolling through their schedule...Florida has earned a top 3 spot...Oregon is a mother fucker...Shit, Nick Saban is already crying about how fast-paste their offense is, and wants rule changes to slow them down...Bastard is already looking ahead to playing them for the championship, and is scared...Kansas State has been cock-strong, and their schedule is solid, especially since the Big-12 looks like the toughest conference this year...And Notre Dame has told Rick Riley, and all other haters, to eat their ass...Hard-nosed defense, and timely plays on offense has them undefeated, and looking to really screw up the BCS....

After the top five it gets messy...LSU is 6th, which is fucking retarded since they lost to Florida, squeaked past South Carolina, and played nobody else...South Carolina is 7th...They play a tough schedule but this is too high after losing to LSU...Oregon State is 8th...Undefeated, and 8th...That's Bullshit...Undefeated Miss State is 12...Again, bullshit...They should be higher...Really, everything below the top five is a mess, and a lot of guess work...A big pile of bullshit is Ohio University not making the top 25 at 7-0...They finally cracked the AP, at 25...Bunch of crap...

-Last week the Cleveland Indians named Terry Francona their new manager...There wasn't too much fanfare, considering how it's football season, and baseball takes a back seat...I'm happy as hell about this...This is the best managerial hiring the Indians have made since Mike Hargrove....Everyone after him has been a mistake, that all got too long to try and prove themselves...Francona is legit...If he can't turn the Tribe around in few years, they should just contract the fucking team...

-The Cleveland Browns got their first win this week, beating the Cincinnati Bengals...I didn't watch it...we had the Little Beeze's birthday party this morning/afternoon, at Chuck-E-Cheese...With Molly's issues after her surgery, he kinda got shafted on his birthday, so we made it up to him...

After we got home, I put on the Browns for a few minutes...I watched Trent Richardson stand there and let a defensive lineman run right past him, and sack Brandon Weeden...Right then I turned it off...There were toys to play with...I didn't need another fucking Browns headache...SO they won, and I missed it...I don't feel like I missed anything...

Local Sports guy Jim Donovan was talking about the win on the news...He was acting like it was the greatest moment in Cleveland Sports history...Like they won the Super Bowl...He was almost in tears...They beat the Bengals...Once...Holy shit, calm down guy!

-So the NHL has fucked up again...Bill Burr put it best this past week on Opie & Anthony..."The NHL has a fear of success." They must, because they were doing well, and then they lockout the players...A day after a bunch of owners threw insane money to sign players to contracts...But they're crying about not making enough money, and players salaries being to high...It's your faults assholes!

But there's still hockey out there folks...The AHL season got going...And so did college hockey...The Fighting Irish started their season by winning the Ice Breaker Tournament...Friday night They beat Maine 1-0...Then Saturday night they beat Nebraska Omaha 3-2...Listen people...It's not the NHL, and that's not a bad thing...There is some great college hockey being played out there...If you need a fix, check it out...

-Saturday night after The Fighting Irish stuffed Stanford at the goal-line, The Mrs. and I Went to see "Argo"...Great movie...A true story that was kept quiet until 1997...Seriously, and amazing story...And again, Ben Affleck showed that he's a better director then he is a actor...Although he isn't bad in the movies he directs...Check it out...

After the movie we grabbed a late dinner...We were in the mood for steak...The wife had a filet and baked sweet potato...

Dude, that Sweet potato is huge...I think it weighed more than my 24 ounce Porterhouse...

The service blew, but the steaks and beer were good...While sitting there, keeping an eye on the college football games I saw it come across that Derek Jeter broke his ankle...I have to say, I wasn't sad...I got nothing against Jeter, except that he is a Yankee...So him going down is fine with me...Just puts more pressure on A-Roid, who is just a fucking choke machine!

And why is it that people are so forgiving of A-Roid and Andy Pettite, and others, who got busted for PED's...I've spent plenty of time bashing Lance Armstrong since it has come out that he is God's gift to cheating...Just as I have with A-Roid and others...But it seems that the media, and most people have forgotten the number of high-profile people who have been busted for cheating...But they're okay beating on Armstrong...Don't get me wrong...Hammer away on him...He's lied and cheated, and it makes me sick...But let's not forget other cheats...Why isn't anyone saying 'A-Roid is in the tank because he's finally off the juice, and he's shit without it!' I'm sick of the media harping on a topic for a week or so, and then just forgetting all about their outrage...

-I have one political comment to make...For the first time since I started voting, I just don't fucking care who wins the election....I'm so sick of the ads...I'm so sick of the non-stop bullshit...The lies on top of lies...Both sides, just fucking being assholes...And I'm tired of both sides saying they have a plan to get the economy working, and creating more jobs...But no one is actually showing or telling us their "plan"...And how the fuck are these guys going to just magically create jobs? Are they going to just make up a bunch of federal jobs...Then everyone will be bitching about our tax dollars being wasted on that...I'm sorry Mitt...I'm sorry Mr. President...I'm calling bullshit...You're making promises you know you can't keep...The truth is, you, just like most people have no idea how to get more people working...And Mr. Ryan, could you please actually explain your idiotic budget plan, instead of saying, "I don't have enough time to explain it." Yes you do, you just don't know how to answer the tough questions about it...

Seriously, I'm sick of it all...I have no faith in any of these dolts...The system is broken...And as much as they all say they care about us, they've done nothing to prove that.

And before I go...Just remember...Don't fuck with a Cleveland BUS_DRIVER!

Have a week...

Each week I do this wrap up, and each week I include what happened in the Notre Dame game...I don't always lead with it, and I try to stay semi-objective, and not get to rah-rah, go Irish! But screw it...This week I may have to...I've heard, and read too much of people shitting on Notre Dame and their undefeated start to this season...People saying their schedule is weak...The same schedule that every publication, and every poll said at the start of the season was the toughest in the country...Who knew Michigan State was actually going to repeatedly blow games? Maybe it's time everyone realizes that preseason polls and rankings are mostly guess work...

Saturday's game in South Bend between #17 Stanford and the #7 Irish was hyped up all week...Everyone saying it's Notre Dame's biggest game...Their real test...Well, those Notre Dame kids know how to to take tests...Once again, the Irish defense lead by captain Manti Te'o, didn't give up a touchdown...That's right, four straight games without giving up a TD...The one Stanford got was scored by their defense on a sack/fumble in the end zone...And this was without a doubt, a defensive battle...Both teams were hitting hard...Both defenses causing turnovers...

Stanford was up 10-3 at halftime...But the Irish battled back, and with under a minute left, they knocked through the tying field goal...Then it was OT...The Irish scored first...Then the defense was pushed to the limit, but held their ground at the goal-line...Stuffing Stanford 4 times inside the 5...twice at the goal-line...Winning 20-13...

Yes, there are people saying the Stanford running back wasn't down on the last attempt, and eventually squeaked over the line...But the replay couldn't prove them right, because the refs had already blown the play dead before he wrenched himself over...The game was already over...Take your crying somewhere else...The Irish won...They are now 6-0...And they should be ranked in the top 5...You don't like it...Either beat them, or fuck off!

Here's the highlights...

The Big-12 had it's premiere game of the season...The infamous, "Red River Shootout"...Sadly, it wasn't the battle of two Big-12 powers that people were hoping to see...Instead it was a 63-21 ass beating of #15 Texas at the hands of rival #13 Oklahoma...And that score...Well, it wasn't even that close...The second week in a row that I was shocked by the lack of defense from Texas...

But there was a Texas team that finally showed up with some D...#5 West Virginia brought their high-octane offense to Lubbock, Texas to take on Texas Tech...I was expecting another Big-12 game full of all offensive highlights from both teams...Just like WV's games against Texas and Baylor...But Tech decided to mix in some D, in a game that Vegas had the "over" just under 80...

While WV's Geno Smith played well, he was not this week's star...Instead it was the Red Raiders' QB Seth Doege, who passed for 499 yards, and 6 TD's...Leading his team to a 49-14 win...Hey WV, maybe it's time you start practicing some defense, because hoping you can out dual everyone in shoot-outs isn't gonna cut it...

This game leaves #6 Kansas State at the top of the Big-12, after they won a close one with Iowa State...27-21...Again, it was QB Collin Klein leading the Wildcats to victory, and a 6-0 record...Klein passed for 187 yards, and rushed for 105yards and 3 TD's...But pay attention people...Iowa State, who no one expected to do much this year, is 4-2, and playing tough...

Now we get to the big prime-time match up in the SEC...#3 South Carolina at (shouldn't be) #9 LSU...LSU finally found some offense, mostly on the ground, gaining 258 yards rushing...While their defense, held Marcus Lattimore and the Gamecocks to just 34 yards on the ground...And yet, South Carolina had a 14-10 lead after 3 quarters...But LSU kept pounding, and eventually won 23-21...

The two biggest stats from this game, in my eyes are, Connor Shaw's two interceptions thrown, and South Carolina converting on only 3 of 13, 3rd downs...When they needed to burn clock, they couldn't...And they stalled on too many drives...LSU's defense is the key to their team...Will they be able to find a passing game to go along with their new found, power running?

In another good SEC game, Tennessee went to Starkville to take on #19 Mississippi State...While the Volunteers are now 3-3, they have shown improvement and toughness this year...The Bulldogs were ahead 27-14 at halftime...Half-way through the 4th quarter their lead was only 34-31...But Miss State QB, Tyler Russell and company were too much for the Vols, winning 41-31...Russell passed for 291 yards and 2 TD's...

Don't look now, but #10 Oregon State is 5-0 after rolling BYU 42-24 Saturday...And they did that with their backup QB, Cody Vaz, who hasn't started since high school...Vaz decided to make a good first impression by passing for 332 yards and 3 TD's...That's nice when the backup can put a game like that together...I'm just saying, if I see USC or Stanford ranked ahead of of the Beavers this week, in any poll, that poll has no credibility at all...

And this week's battle of no defense goes to Texas A&M and #23 Louisiana Tech...In a game that came down to the very end, Texas A&M squeaked out a 59-57 win...A&M put up 691 total yards, while Tech racked up 616 total yards...The Aggies offense was lead by QB Johnny Manziel who passed for 396 yards and 3 TD's...He added 3 more TD's and 181 yards on the ground...Tech's QB, Colby Cameron passed for 449 yards and 5 TD's...And his top target was Quinton Patton, who caught 21 passes for 233 yards and 4 TD's...

Second place for the no defense bowl this week was Ohio State and Indiana...I don't include Ohio State's ranking, because they aren't eligible for anything this year, so the ranking is voided in my eyes...The Buckeyes showed some big offense again this week, putting up 578 yards and 52 points on the Hoosiers...Hey, Indiana is a joke when it comes to football, so who's surprised by this? No one...It's the fact that Indiana hung 481 yards and 49 points on Ohio State...Yeah, the Buckeyes won, but they should slap the shit out of themselves for that defensive performance...

That's it for this week's wrap up...Feel free to leave the highlights of the games you were paying attention to...See ya Monday...
