Wow! Two weeks in a row Mother Nature has been causing trouble, and gives me an excuse to post a pic of some tastiness in the rain! Not that I need much of an excuse!
So the weather caused some issues at the Notre Dame game, but the weather gets no credit for the disgrace that took place on the field...I'm not taking anything away from USF...They are a good team, with a good coach, but the Irish handed them the game right from jump...
Notre Dame looked great in their opening drive, all the way up to the point where Jonas Gray fumbled at the goal-line...If you read my IRISH_PREVIEW you saw that I pointed out, that Gray needed to knock off his fumbling habits! Too bad he didn't read it...USF scooped it up and ran it all the way back for 6...This didn't seem to rattle the Irish, except for QB Dayne Crist, who started making bad reads, and throwing bad passes...The Irish got to the red zone 4 times and left with 0 points on the board in the first half...
Theo Riddick fumbled a punt inside the Irish 20 yard line, and that rattled him for the rest of the day...He couldn't handle any punts...bobbled them all, never got his feet under himself, and looked scared shitless...Then he started dropping passes...
Oh, and don't forget the stupid fucking penalties...Harrison Smith, two fucking face-masking penalties in a row...He should have been benched...Gray and Riddick too!
Coach Brian Kelly looked like he was going to start ripping players faces off...After halftime/ a long weather delay, Kelly benched Crist, and put in Tommy Rees...The Irish came out fired up, missed a field goal...Rees threw a pick...And yet, they still were pushing to comeback...Another weather delay with 4 minutes left in the game...Then Rees threw another pick...Irish get it back, score, down by 3, go for the onside kick, don't get it, game over...
I was so upset watching this Football game, my oldest daughter, who hasn't seen this side when we go to the local high school games, asked, "Why do boys like Football so much when it makes them mad?" Good fucking question honey! I took to twitter with my anger so I wouldn't upset the kids...Some ND supporter tweeted, "We understand why Irish fans are upset. You are welcome to be upset. We will continue to support Notre Dame our mother. Don't turn on these young men."
Which of course got under my skin, so I responded with this, "Oh, thank you for allowing me to be upset! How kind of you! Wow, you've got some balls!" They came back with, "@TheBeeze34 Think you are taking what was said the wrong way. Just asking #Irish fans to not turn on our guys."
So I hit them with two more..."@TNNDN #Irish fans have the right to want their team to not fumble games away. QB's not to throw picks and make bad reads" and "@TNNDN Say what you want, but it's their job. They are getting a $50,000 yr education for playing football. Fans have the right 2 b pissed!"
I really hate when people are so arrogant, that they feel they speak for all fans everywhere, and that they need to tell us how to feel...Blow me! I'll cheer how I want, and I'll be pissed if I want...I have been a loyal, and die hard Notre Dame fan forever...And to me being a fan doesn't mean being blind...That team played like a steaming pile of dog shit, and a real fan admits to it, and calls them on it!

And since I'm here, Why the fuck hasn't Roger Goodell Suspended Jim Tressel yet...If you didn't know, Tressel got a job as a BS assistant with the Colts...Now Goodell upheld the NCAA's ruling on Terrell Pryor, and suspended him for his first 5 games in the league...So why hasn't he come out and done the same to Tressel...Tressel was given 2 games by the NCAA initially, and then said he'd take 5...Once again, the commissioner's office is being inconsistent in it's rulings...

This post, like many before, is inspired by one of the biggest, Ohio State/Jim Tressel/Cleveland supports you will ever read...Her posts are tired, as they all seem to be the same rah, rah, bullshit, copied and pasted from her last post...But last night, she didn't bring all that garbage to the table...Instead, she just brought her pissing and moaning, because 'everybody is always picking on Ohio State!'
So I wanted to explain to her, why her beloved Buckeyes are getting dumped on so much more than other programs...First, read her brief cry-fest HERE...
So first, people aren't jumping up and down on Miami, because the story is just breaking...All the dirty little secrets haven't been brought to light, dummy! Second, let's all be honest, this is the shit we all expect from Miami...This won't be the first time that they end up in hot water with the NCAA, and it won't be the last...Maybe it's seems unfair princess Suckeye, but that's just the way it is...
Why is it that way? Because Tressel crafted an image of being a wholesome, aww shucks, Christian, goodie two shoes, who parents trusted their kids with...Oh, and his teams played good defense and could run the ball...When Tressel stepped onto the campus, he brought respectability back to Ohio State, on and off the field...Why people thought that, I don't know since he just spent a number of years cheating at Youngstown State...And many of us knew about that before the big Sports Illustrated article!
Why did bloggers call Tressel a liar and cheater you ask? Because he lied and cheated! It wasn't just the cover-up he perpetrated, but then the lying once he was questioned...He knowingly played 38 players who should have been ineligible...The worst part to me is that more heads didn't roll...The AD should have been whacked too...There's no way that bastard didn't know about any of this...I'll get to that in a minute...
Lovely JDIN827, you brought up UNC getting busted...Well, again people weren't surprised...Butch Davis may be a good coach, but no one turns a bad program around that quick without some shenanigans...Oh, and it was Butch Davis...You know, Miami Butch Davis! And yes, saying that cheating is expected from schools in the SEC is a cop-out, but it's somewhat true...Those schools you mentioned, while they are prestigious Football schools, other than Michigan, none have the Holier than Thou reputation that Tressel brought to Ohio State...And yes, the Ohio State fan-base is arrogant as hell!
Oh, and you mentioned USC...They got beat up by bloggers and the press...And Pete Carrol got hammered for being dirty, and then running to Seattle when shit got too hot...It's time JDIN827, for you to pull your head out of the sand...
Now I said I'd get back to the Ohio State AD...He had to know about some of the crap going on there...But why would he stop it...Ohio State Football brings in hundreds of thousands of dollars a year...And Football keeps the Athletic Department running...Most major Universities have 16-18 varsity sports...Ohio State has 40...Including a women's Hockey team that loses $1 million a year...A women's Crew team which just had a $5 million boat house build, and loses $1 million a year...As a matter of fact, most of the 40 programs lose money...
So the AD has to push his Coach to win, and win now, and contend every year...So of course Tressel was under extreme pressure to produce winners repeatedly...There is no way he didn't know the pressure Tressel and his staff were under...And there is no way that Tressel was the only member of the coaching staff that knew anything, or covered anything up...
The hammer should have been dropped on Ohio State, but they have been one of the NCAA's crown jewels for too long, and they make the NCAA too much money...So JDIN827, and all you arrogant, Jim Tressel nut swinging, douchebag, Ohio State fans, you should just shut up and be happy that your team got off as easy as they did...Stop worrying about other schools' problems, and focus on fixing your own...Stick your tears, and your rah, rah, sis-boom, bah, up your ass!

With all that has been going on in the world, and some things in my own little world, I've been having a hard time getting motivated to write my normal Monday (mostly) Sports blog...
Honestly, there has been non-stop talk about the NFL Players and Owners possibly reaching a new CBA deal...There has been some players bitching, and the owners may be trying to make them look bad, and force them into a crap deal...Guess what? I don't give shit! I'd almost be happy to see them all shit the bed, and completely piss off their fan base...Maybe they'd learn a lesson, but I doubt it...
I had planned earlier in the week to write about some possible MLB trades, like will the Indians or Pirates be willing actually make deals that would help them stay in contention? But I really don't care at this point...
There is another thing that happened in sports that has me salty...The rumors swirling around are saying that Ohio State isn't going to get hammered by the NCAA...If this is true, then the NCAA is completely full of shit! If it was a smaller program, they would have crushed them...Just by getting rid of Tressel and forfeiting the 2010 doesn't make it all better...Ohio State still keeps the money they made, including the money from the Sugar Bowl...
Plus with Tressels history of cheating and rules violations, and the fact that it's been proven that his bullshit at Ohio State has been going on since 2002, the University has to be held somewhat accountable...And the rest of the programs need to be put on notice, that no one is untouchable...What a bunch of horse shit!

I mentioned things in my own little world that were bothering me as well...The biggest thing is my Uncle is seriously sick, and they aren't sure why yet...He, along with my parents and their two totally different tastes in music, was the biggest influence on me falling in love with music...It was him, before anyone else, that made me want to play guitar...So I leave this week's post by listening to him...
I noticed Women's Golf was on a couple times this weekend...Both times it was on channels and times that it was scheduled to be there...I really hate having things forced on me...Although, if this was the required attire for women's golf, and they all looked that good, the ratings would go through the roof...
Now, the whole Ohio State/Jim Tressel thing has gotten tired, or at least I thought so...Yet there are still people who are loyal to the cheating bastard...And they all say all coaches at major programs are cheating...REALLY? Prove it! It's the weakest argument out there...It's easy as hell to say, but sure seems hard to prove based on the number of major programs, and the very few coaches that have been killed for cheating...
So this past week, Ohio State came out and said that Tressel's resignation, was forced...WHAT A SHOCKER DOUCHEBAGS! I guess the rumblings inspired my not-so-favorite Cleveland Sports blogger...Poor gal has been relegated to posting at a Canadian site...Here is her latest POST...I hope they can handle the traffic they're going to get!
As so many of her posts do, this one is simply a copy and paste of Tressel's resume...Shady shit not included...She likes to act if this whole tattoos for memorabilia thing was a one-time slip-up...Except it's been proven that this stuff has been going on since 2002...Plus there is the 28 known players who were getting cars...There was Tressel lying about knowing about this...Lying about getting a warning that the FEDS were looking into a drug ring at the tattoo shop, and that players may be involved...
Oh, and she blows past the illegal shit Tressel did at Youngstown State...After he left, that program fell apart...Not because their great coach was gone, but because the sanctions that were thrown down on the program, because the great coach was getting his players set up with cars and jobs that they didn't need to show up for...Multiple former players in jail...Countless ex-players talked about Tressel and what he knew, and did for them, but the loyalist just say it's sour grapes...That argument could work, if it was one or two...But it's been a lot more than that...
It's time for a reality check JDIN! Take off the Scarlet colored glasses, and understand not everything is shades of Grey...Some shit is black and white, and right and wrong...Don't you get tired of being wrong!?!
On a more positive note with Ohio State...Former Buckeye LB, Mike Vrabel has decided to retire from the NFL, and is going to become the new Linebacker's coach at his Alma Mater...Ohio State is hoping that the addition of Vrabel can get their recruiting back up to speed, since it's been bogged down since this Tressel mess...I'm not a Buckeye fan, but I've always liked Vrabel...I hope he does well, and finds a great career in coaching...

Schmidt a Linebacker, was offered a Full-Ride Scholarship from the University of Arizona, and turned it down to be a "Preferred Walk-on" at Notre Dame...
PREFERRED WALK-ON A player who is promised a roster spot, and reports with the scholarship players for fall camp a few weeks before classes start. He is not on scholarship, but can earn scholarships as they become available
