NFL Mock Draft
Posted by steelersfan on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 3:49:50 PM

It's draft day so I figure I'd take a shot at a mock draft for this year. Hopefully it's better than the one I did last year.

1. Indianapolis Colts- QB Andrew Luck

It's already a done deal.

2. Washington Redskins- QB Robert Griffin III

It's basically a done deal.

3. Minnesota Vikings- OT Matt Kalil

The Vikings give Ponder some protection with a franchise left tackle.

4. Cleveland Browns- RB Trent Richardson

The Browns add a great piece to their mediocre at best offense.

5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- WR Justin Blackmon

Tampa adds another talented wide receiver to put across from Vincent Jackson.

6. St. Louis Rams- CB Morris Claiborne

The Rams add a corner to play opposite Corteland Finnegan.

7. Jacksonville Jaguars- CB Stephon Gilmore

It's a reach, but apparently Jacksonville likes him enough to take him here.

8. Miami Dolphins- QB Ryan Tannehill

The Dolphins get a good quarterback with plenty of potential.

9. Carolina Panthers- DT Fletcher Cox

Carolina needs defensive line help, and Cox would greatly improve the unit.

10. Buffalo Bills- OT Riley Reiff

The Bills add Reiff to help shore up the offensive line.

11. Kansas City Chiefs- DT Dontari Poe

The Chiefs need a strong force in the middle of their defensive line.

12. Seattle Seahawks- ILB Luke Kuechly

Seattle gets a great value pick here, and they'll find a way to use him in their defense.

13. Arizona Cardinals- WR Michael Floyd

Arizona gives Kolb another weapon here.

14. Dallas Cowboys- S Mark Barron

Dallas takes a great safety to improve a secondary that has added more pieces in free agency.

15. Philadelphia Eagles- DE Quinton Coples

Coples is a great value pick this far back in the first round.

16. New York Jets- OLB Melvin Ingram

The Jets are interested in Ingram, and he would be a great pass rusher on that defense.

17. Cincinnati Bengals- CB Janoris Jenkins

Cincy gambles  on the troubled, but talented corner here.

18. San Diegeo Chargers- G David DeCastro

San Diego improves their offensive line with the Stanford guard.

19. Chicago Bears- OT Jonathan Martin

The Bears need help on the O Line and Martin would be a good fit here.

20. Tennessee Titans- CB Dre Kirkpatrick

The Titans need a corner after losing Finnegan in free agency.

21. Cincinnati Bengals- WR Kendall Wright

Cincy adds an offensive weapon to put across from A.J. Green.

22. Cleveland Browns- WR Stephen Hill

The Browns add a speedster to help Colt McCoy out in the passing game.

23. Detroit Lions- OLB Whitney Mercilus

Detroit picks a great pass rusher to improve an already solid defense.

24. Pittsburgh Steelers- ILB Dont'a Hightower

Pittsburgh released Farrior, so they take Hightower here to fill that void.

25. Denver Broncos- DT Michael Brockers

He would be a steal to get here and the Broncos would gladly take him.

26. Houston Texans- T/G Cordy Glenn

Houston needs O Line help especially after releasing Eric Winston.

27. New England Patriots- OLB Chandler Jones

The Patriots like him a lot and if he's here there is no doubt that they will take him.

28. Green Bay Packers- DE Nick Perry

The Packers usually take the best player available and at this point in the draft, they would have to go with Nick Perry.

29. Baltimore Ravens- C Peter Konz

Konz is a good, versatile lineman who will strengthen the Ravens interior O Line.

30. San Francisco 49ers- OLB Courtney Upshaw

The 49ers add another piece to their great defense.

31. New England Patriots- S Harrison Smith

The Patriots also like him, and they will take him here if they don't trade this pick.

32. New York Giants- RB Doug Martin

Their running game struggled and they lost Brandon Jacobs. With no other glaring needs, Martin would be a good pick here.

NFL Draft Grades
Posted by steelersfan on Monday, May 02, 2011 at 10:01:58 PM

After three days full of surprises, reaches and steals, the NFL Draft is finally over. Here is a look at some of the winners and losers of the draft: I don’t grade by talent because it’s so hard to determine just who will be good and who will bust. My grades are based on the teams that filled needs and maximized value by selecting players in rounds where they should have been taken and taking players that fit their offensive and defensive schemes.

Five Winners

New Orleans Saints: The Saints made a move on day one when they traded with New England to get back up into the first round. With their first pick at 24th overall, they grabbed California defensive tackle Cameron Jordan who many thought would go a lot higher. They also stole former Heisman Trophy winning runningback Mark Ingram at pick 28 with their trade with New England. That gives them a ton of options at runningback with Mark Ingram, Pierre Thomas, Chris Ivory, and Reggie Bush. The Saints also took a pair of Illinois linebackers with Nate Bussey in the seventh round and the underrated Martez Wilson in the third. Pittsburgh defensive end Greg Romeus was a huge steal in the seventh round and third round selection cornerback Johnny Patrick will add depth at the position.

My Grade: B+

Dallas Cowboys:The Cowboys will be giving quarteback Tony Romo plenty of protection by selecting a pair of lineman in rounds one and four. Tackle Tyron Smith should be a sure starter at left tackle, and David Arkin is an option at guard. Outside linebacker Bruce Carter was a steal in the second round and has great potential if he's healthy. They also added an explosive backfield option in Oklahoma's DeMarco Murray. Fifth round selection Josh Thomas filled a need in the secondary and will compete for playing time.

My Grade: B+

Cincinnati Bengals: Cincinnati had a great first two days in selecting two future stars. A.J. Green was selected with the fourth overall pick and is sure to replace either OchoCinco or Owens, depending on which one goes first. They added their franchise quarterback in the second round with TCU's Andy Dalton. The Bengals filled a need in drafting defensive lineman Dontay Moch and added more depth at wide receiver with Stanford's Ryan Whalen. They also got some protection for their future quarterback by stealing Clint Boling in the fourth round.

My Grade: A

Detroit Lions: The Lions really had a good first three picks. They added defensive tackle Nick Fairley to play alongside Ndamukong Suh which will be one of the best interior defensive lines in the whole league. They grabbed Boise State's wide receiver Titus Young who will give Matt Stafford another weapon and a good complement to Calvin Johnson. Illinois' runningback Mike LeShoure will be great alongside Jahvid Best- A tandem that will be an excellent one-two punch. These picks will be nightmares for opposing offenses and defenses alike and maybe people will start taking the Lions seriously for the first time in a long time. One downfall however is that they failed to draft a corner which was probably their top need. They will have to address that in free agency (that is, if we have one.)

My Grade: A-

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Tampa Bay was a winner in this draft after their first two picks. They shored up the defensive line for ten years in selecting defensive ends Adrian Clayborn and Da'Quan Bowers. Bowers was projected as the number one overall pick by many three months ago until questions surfaced about his knee. If he can stay healthy though, he will be a forced to be reckoned with. There's no doubt about that. These two picks, along with last year’s picks Gerald McCoy and Brian Price, will be one of the best defensive line corps in a couple years and could rival the Vanden Bosh, Kearse, Brown, and Haynesworth corps of the Titans from a few years ago.

My Grade: A-

That's it for the winners, now to the losers.

Five Losers

Carolina Panthers: The Panthers reached on just about every pick except for defensive lineman Terrell McClain. They set themselves back three years in selecting Cam Newton with the first pick. He isn't an NFL quarterback and he sure won't succeed without any weapons around him. They didn't take a wide receiver until the fifth round which made absolutely no sense especially with Steve Smith likely on his way out. The Panthers raised a lot of eyebrows with most of their picks.

My Grade: C-

Seattle Seahawks: The Seahawks drafted two offensive lineman with their first two picks in James Carpenter and John Moffit. There's only one problem with that. Seattle doesn't have a quarterback! They had the perfect chance to select TCU's Andy Dalton at 25th, but instead they reach for Carpenter. Who are these guys going to be protecting? Charlie Whitehurst? I really don't understand Seattle's drafting strategy at all, but I think I have it figured out. Reach for offensive linemen in the first two rounds to protect a career backup or a 35 year old has-been. We'll see how far that gets them.

My Grade: D+

Oakland Raiders: Well, I can't get on the Raiders too much since they didn't have a first round pick, but the rest of their selections still didn't make much sense. They drafted a cornerback with their second pick to replace departing cornerback Nnamdi Asomougha, but they didn't get the right guy. They drafted one of the fastest corners in the draft, which is a mistake that can be blamed on owner Al Davis, and they drafted Chimdi Chekwa later in the draft. I like Ohio State and Chimdi Chekwa, but he isn't an NFL starter. I really think they messed up on that and it could be reflected by their pass defense this season.

My Grade: C-

Atlanta Falcons: The Falcons should have never moved up 21 spots to take wide receiver Julio Jones. The pick doesn’t make a ton of sense. They needed defensive help way more than they needed offensive. I understand that they wanted a playmaking wide receiver, but they could have grabbed Maryland’s Torrey Smith in the second round if they wanted a deep threat. With their other picks, they took only two defensive players which probably might not even be rotational guys. They came into the draft primarily needing defense and came out with one quality pick in Jones, who they gave up way too much to get, and a few special teamers.

My Grade: C-

San Francisco 49ers: The 49ers surprised a lot of people selecting linebacker Aldon Smith at number seven; a pick that I thought was a bit of a reach, but could still add an outside pass rush to their defense so I can’t criticize that pick too much. But other than that, I didn’t understand the rest of their picks. They took Colin Kaepernick to be their quarterback of the future. That’s fine, but I’m not sure that he has the skill set to be an NFL starter. I thought Ryan Mallett would have been a better selection. They didn’t take a cornerback until the third round, which I thought was their top need. Some of their picks left me shaking my head.

My Grade: C-

Some of the teams I didn’t see as a winner or loser. Here’s a look at the rest:

Arizona Cardinals: B

Baltimore Ravens: B+

Buffalo Bills: B

Chicago Bears: B-

Cleveland Browns: B

Denver Broncos: B

Green Bay Packers: B

Houston Texans: B

Indianapolis Colts: B-

Jacksonville Jaguars: C

Kansas City Chiefs: C

Miami Dolphins: B-

Minnesota Vikings: C+

New England Patriots: C+

New York Giants: B

New York Jets: C

Philadelphia Eagles: C+

Pittsburgh Steelers: B

San Diego Chargers: B+

St. Louis Rams: B-

Tennessee Titans: C+

Washington Redskins: B-

2011 NFL Mock Draft
Posted by steelersfan on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 9:21:12 PM

1 Carolina Panthers- QB Cam Newton, Auburn

The Panthers get a big, athletic quarterback to lead their team next season.

2. Denver Broncos- DT Marcell Dareus, Alabama

Denver strengthens up the interior defensive line with Marcell Dareus.

3. Buffalo Bills- OLB Von Miller, Texas A&M

No quarterback for Buffalo here. They’re going to go with the pass rusher out of Texas A&M to add a big boost to the defense.

4. Cincinnati Bengals- WR A.J. Green, Georgia

Cincy won’t pass up the best wide receiver prospect in the draft. He will replace either T.O. or Chad Johnson, whichever one leaves first.

5. Arizona Cardinals- QB Blaine Gabbert, Missouri

Arizona won’t pass on a franchise quarterback here. They can’t afford to have John Skelton starting for them next season.

6. Cleveland Browns- WR Julio Jones, Alabama

Cleveland brings in a new number one wideout to give Colt McCoy a dangerous weapon.

7. San Francisco 49ers- CB Patrick Peterson, Louisiana State

The 49ers add a great talent to their secondary in Patrick Peterson.

8. Tennessee Titans- QB Jake Locker, Washington

This would be a surprise pick, but I think the Titans organization likes him enough to take him here.

9. Dallas Cowboys- OT Tyron Smith, Southern California

Dallas gives Romo more protection with Smith who will ultimately replace Marc Columbo.

10. Washington Redskins- OLB Robert Quinn, North Carolina

Quinn is a great player who will be a big upgrade at outside linebacker for Washington.

11. Houston Texans- CB Prince Amukamara, Nebraska

Houston needs a shut-down corner to improve their sub-par secondary.

12. Minnesota Vikings- DT Cameron Jordan, California

Minnesota has to find a replacement for Pat Williams and apparently they are very high on Cameron Jordan.

13. Detroit Lions- CB Jimmy Smith, Colorado

The Lions seem interested in selecting a cornerback and Smith would be a huge improvement to their secondary.

14. St. Louis Rams- DT Nick Fairley, Auburn

If he somehow fell this far, then there is no doubt that St. Louis would gladly take him.

15. Miami Dolphins- RB Mark Ingram, Alabama

Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown aren’t the players that they used to be. It’s time to find a long-term solution at running back.

16. Jacksonville Jaguars- DE Aldon Smith, Missouri

Smith would be a great fit in the Jaguars defense and would be a steal here.

17. New England Patriots- DE J.J. Watt, Wisconsin

Watt fits perfectly in a 3-4 defense and was an absolute beast for the Badgers last season.

18. San Diego Chargers- DT Muhammad Wilkerson, Temple

The Chargers need to shore up the defensive line and that’s what they’ll do in selecting Wilkerson.

19. New York Giants- OG Mike Pouncey, Florida

If Pouncey were to fall to the Giants, then I’m sure they would take him. They need offensive line help badly and Pouncey would be a starter for a long time.

20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- DE Ryan Kerrigan, Purdue

Kerrigan fits well in Tampa Bay’s defense and is one of the best pass rushers in the draft.

21. Kansas City Chiefs- OT Anthony Castonzo, Boston College

Branden Albert doesn’t seem like the starter at left tackle. The Chiefs must find a true left tackle to protect QB Matt Cassel.

22. Indianapolis Colts- OT Nate Solder, Colorado

The Colts need to keep Manning off his back and they did a terrible job of doing that last season. Solder is a great all-around lineman and would be a big steal here.

23. Philadelphia Eagles- DT Corey Liuget, Illinois

The Eagles are most likely going to go with defense here and Liuget is a big 300 lbs. defensive tackle and would be a steal to get him this late in the first round.

24. New Orleans Saints- DT Marvin Austin, North Carolina

Austin is a guy who has been moving up on draft boards and I think New Orleans will surprise a lot of people and take him at 24.

25. Seattle Seahawks- OT Derek Sherrod, Mississippi State

Seattle really needs to find a long-term fix at tackle and Sherrod will be just that.

26. Baltimore Ravens- OT Gabe Carimi, Wisconsin

Michael Oher struggled at left tackle last year so I think they’ll bring in Carimi to battle for that spot or to start at right tackle if they have enough faith in Oher protecting Flacco’s blind side.

27. Atlanta Falcons- WR Torrey Smith, Maryland

Atlanta is interested in bringing in a deep threat like Smith who can stretch the field.

28. New England Patriots- OLB Justin Houston, Georgia

New England adds another young talent on their defense here.

29. Chicago Bears- DE Da’Quan Bowers, Clemson

The Bears steal Bowers here and save him from his free fall, adding a fantastic player when he’s healthy.

30. New York Jets- NT Phil Taylor, Baylor

Phil Taylor will replace Kris Jenkins at nose tackle although it will be a bit of a reach.

31. Pittsburgh Steelers- CB Aaron Williams, Texas

Aaron Williams will be a huge boost to the Steelers secondary. Ike Taylor is set to become a free agent and Bryant McFadden isn’t a true starting corner by any means. Cornerback must be addressed in the first round.

32. Green Bay Packers- DT Christian Ballard, Iowa

Green Bay will go with the best available player and I believe that will be Christian Ballad over Adrian Clayborn.

Please leave any comments or questions you have for me.

Mock Draft 2.0
Posted by steelersfan on Sunday, March 06, 2011 at 11:25:15 AM

1. Carolina Panthers- DT Nick Fairley, Auburn

The Panthers need a lot of help on both sides of the ball. There are concerns at quarterback, with an unimpressive Jimmy Clausen and Matt Moore. Blaine Gabbert and Cam Newton are possibilities here. Wide receiver is a concern with an aging Steve Smith and young, unproven receivers, so don't count out A.J. Green here. But perhaps the biggest need is on the D-Line. Nick Fairley would is a great interior defensive lineman who would upgrade this unit greatly and give the Panthers a much needed force on the defensive line.

2. Denver Broncos- DE Da'Quan Bowers, Clemson

What to say about the Broncos defense? How about nonexistent. They ranked dead last in the league in total defense and thirty-first in run defense. That being said they must upgrade the abysmal defensive line with an all-around good player that can stop the run and put pressure on the passer. Da'Quan Bowers is ready to start right away and would be a much needed boost to a horrific defense.

3. Buffalo Bills- DT Marcell Dareus, Alabama

The Bills might be satisfied with the play of the "Harvard Man" Ryan Fitzpatrick to keep him around for another season. If they decide to do that, they will look to the defensive side of the ball. The Bills need a pass rushing 3-4 end or linebacker so it will come down to whether they like Marcell Dareus or Von Miller more. I really like Von Miller, but after Dareus' combine, there is no way the Bills should pass on him, but don't be surprised if they go with Miller.

4. Cincinnati Bengals- QB Blaine Gabbert, Missouri

If the Bengals don't know by now CARSON PALMER WANTS OUT! As long as he doesn't pull a Lance Briggs it looks like he's gone. As much as the Bengals would love a young, fast, playmaking wide receiver here, they must get someone to throw the ball first and Blaine Gabbert is farther along on his footwork and fundamentals than the other quarterbacks are in this draft.

5. Arizona Cardinals- OLB Von Miller, Texas A&M

The Cardinals number one need is quarterback, but with Gabbert possibly going to Cincinnati, and Ken Whisenhutt's job probably on the hot seat, I just can't see him risking his job to start a new regime. They need to add some youth at linebacker and Von Miller impressed at the Combine has a low bust potential. They can't go wrong picking him.

6. Cleveland Browns- WR A.J. Green, Georgia

This is the Browns dream scenario besides getting Nick Fairley. Green offers the vertical threat the Browns lack and have lacked for the last couple of years. They could also go with a defensive lineman here like J.J. Watt or Cameron Jordan, or go with cornerback Patrick Peterso, but if Green makes it passed Cincy, I can't see how the Browns could pass on him.

7. San Francisco 49ers- CB Patrick Peterson, LSU

The 49ers would be ecstatic if Peterson fell to seventh. He is a ball-hawking corner who would greatly upgrade the San Francisco secondary. They also could use a quarterback, but with Gabbert likely off the board by now, head coach Jon Harbaugh won't take a risk on a scrambler like Cam Newton or Jake Locker.

8. Tennessee Titans- CB Prince Amukamara, Nebraska

The Titans were twenty-ninth in the league last year in pass defense which means they need either a pass-rushing defensive lineman or a shut-down corner. I think with Dareus gone, who would be the ideal interior defensive lineman for the Titans, they'll go with Nebraska's Prince Amukamara who is the prototypical shut-down corner that teams look for. He will be a great player in this league for many years.

9. Dallas Cowboys- DE J.J. Watt, Wisconsin

J.J. Watt was an absolute beast last season for the Badgers. He can play as a 4-3 end or tackle or a 3-4 end, and can rush the passer as well as stop the run. His versatility and talent will make him a great fit in the Cowboys defense.

10. Washington Redskins- QB Cam Newton, Auburn

With the Donovan McNabb experience not working out and Rex Grossman struggling at the end of the year, the Redskins have to take a quarterback here. I think Dan Snyder and the Redskins organization will be impressed with the raw talent in Cam Newton. But there is a good chance that his lack of accuracy and footwork could make him struggle and end up as a bust, and leave us having this same conversation next year.

11. Houston Texans- CB Jimmy Smith, Colorado

Houston's secondary was a joke last year giving up 267 yards a game. They desperately need help and Jimmy Smith could give them that help. He has been rising on a lot of people's boards, and although he isn't as far along as the other two top corners in this draft are, he can be groomed into a starting role.

12. Minnesota Vikings- OT Anthony Castonzo, Boston College

Bryant McKinnie was terrible protecting Favre's blind side last season and Castonzo is a guy who impressed people at the Combine and probably fits best as a right tackle in the NFL. But the Vikings don't really have much of a choice unless they pick someone up in free agency because there is no way that they will let McKinney stay at left tackle.

13. Detroit Lions- OT Tyron Smith, USC

Matt Stafford is injury prone and they can't afford to let him get hurt again so I'll be surprised if they don't go with an offensive lineman here. They do have holes on defense, but protecting their $72 million investment has to be their top priority.

14. St. Louis Rams- WR Julio Jones, Alabama

Sam Bradford took the Rams to a 7-9 season with virtually no weapons at all. Julio Jones ran a 4.39 at the combine on an injured foot. His speed coupled with his pass catching ability would make him a great fit in St. Louis and a good young target for second-year quarterback Sam Bradford.

15. Miami Dolphins- RB Mark Ingram, Alabama

The Dolphins have basically no offensive threat whatsoever. They have two subpar running backs and don't even have a starting quarterback. They have to address one of those needs here and who better than a former Heisman Trophy winner who draws comparisons to Emmit Smith.

16. Jacksonville Jaguars- DE Aldon Smith, Missouri

Aldon Smith possesses the pass-rushing ability that Jacksonville needs. They improved their defensive line when they drafted Tyson Alualu, but they still lack a speed rusher on the outside.

17. New England Patriots- DT Corey Liuget, Illinois

At 6'3" and 300 lbs., Liuget fits well into the Patriots defensive scheme. He would add some much-needed youth to a less than stellar defensive line.

18. San Diego Chargers- DT Cameron Jordan, California

If Cameron Jordan fell all the way to eighteen there is no doubt that the Chargers would take him. He's another one of the good 3-4 end/4-3 tackles and would be a good upgrade for the Chargers. They could also look to take a linebacker here- maybe Akeem Ayers, but if they can get a top ten talent like Jordan, they will have to take him.

19. New York Giants- OLB Robert Quinn, North Carolina

It seems as if the Giants are always mocked to take a linebacker or defensive lineman. Michael Boley and Clint Sintim aren't going to cut it, so the Giants need to look for a good outside linebacker. Robert Quinn would be a bit of a risk because he hasn't played for a year, but the Giants are used to taking risks. Just last year they took a huge risk on a raw Jason Pierre-Paul.

20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- DE Adrian Clayborn, Iowa

The Buccaneers need help at defensive line and with Iowa's Adrian Clayborn, they get a big, run-stopping defensive end. They ranked twenty-eighth in the league last season in stopping the run so Clayborn would be a huge upgrade.

21. Kansas City Chiefs- OG Mike Pouncey, Florida

After a season in which we saw the Chiefs winning the division for the first time in a while, they will surely be tough to beat next season. However, the one aspect of the game that they must improve on is protecting quarterback Matt Cassel. Mike Pouncey, the brother of Steelers Pro Bowl Center Maurkice Pouncey, would be a great pickup for the Chiefs. Branden Albert is a decent left tackle and with Pouncey at left guard, it would greatly help out the whole unit.

22. Indianapolis- OT Nate Solder, Colorado

Nate Solder was projected to go in the first half of the first round, but after struggling on the bench press at the Combine, his strength may be in question. If he did happen to fall to twenty second then the Colts would have to take him. Solder would be a solid starter at right tackle for the Colts after a year that we saw Peyton Manning getting hit more than we're used to seeing and a nonexistent run game.

23. Philadelphia Eagles- OT Gabe Carimi, Wisconsin

We all know that Andy Reid loves big offensive tackles (maybe to make him feel better about himself), but all joking aside, Gabe Carimi was a solid player at Wisconsin for four years and has proven that he can handle the Big Ten's best defensive ends. He is a massive 6'7" 315 lbs. tackle who can play right or left tackle for the Eagles.

24. New Orleans Saints- DT Stephen Paea, Oregon State

After Stephen Paea's mind blowing 49 reps of 225 lbs. on the bench press, he should have some teams talking. Paea would be a great fit as a 4-3 interior defensive tackle for a scheme like the Saints run.

25. Seattle Seahawks- QB Jake Locker, Washington

Seattle might have some other needs, but they need a quarterback of the future before anything. Matt Hasselbeck isn't getting any younger. Jake Locker isn't an NFL ready quarterback just yet, but after a year sitting behind a veteran and polishing up on his skills, he could be the Seahawks' quarterback for many years.

26. Baltimore- WR Torrey Smith, Maryland

Joe Flacco's weapons right now are aging veteran Derrick Mason and former Cardinal Anquan Boldin. They need youth at the position and someone with the straight-line speed to stretch the field. Torrey Smtih might be a bit undersized, but he makes up for it with his blazing fast speed and can also be a decent return man.

27. Atlanta Falcons- DE Ryan Kerrigan, Purdue

Kerrigan fits well as a 4-3 end and would be a huge steal for the Falcons to get him this late in the first round. Kerrigan is a decent pass-rusher and would help out a team that only had thirty one sacks last season.

28. New England Patriots- WR Jonathan Baldwin, Pittsburgh

The Patriots need some size at wide receiver and at nearly 6'5", and excellent speed for his size, he would be a great weapon to complement Wes Welker and Deion Branch.

29. Chicago Bears- OG Ben Ijalana, Villanova

The Bears have a lot of pieces to work with on the offensive line. Omiyale played well and Chris Williams is an average guard, but they could use some depth at the position and a guy to compete for a starting job to give Cutler more protection.

30. New York Jets- OLB Akeem Ayers, UCLA

Ayers has been projected as high as the mid first round to as low as the end of the second. He has great speed and agility and can rush off the edge well. He would be a good fit for the Jets.

31. Pittsburgh Steelers- NT Phil Taylor, Baylor

Casey Hampton is getting older and its about time to look for a replacement. Taylor is a massive nose tackle who can plug up the holes and is very similar to Hampton. They also could use a big wide receiver, a defensive end, an offensive tackle, and a cornerback like Miami's Brandon Harris especially with Ike Taylor becoming a free agent and William Gay playing terribly. Harris is a big possibility as well as Texas Cornerback Aaron Williams.

32. Green Bay Packers- DT Muhammad Wilkerson, Temple

The Packers need to add some youth on the defensive line to go along with B.J. Raji. Wilkerson can play as a 3-4 end or a 4-3 tackle as he is plenty big enough at 6'4" 305.

My next mock should be up in April. Please leave your comments.
