NFL intergity?? Jaguars stink?? Steve Sabol the man who propelled the NFL?? All this and more in this weeks edition of …….

I am lost for words to describe what I seen on the field this past Sunday between the Houston Texans and the Jacksonville Jaguars. I get right to the point… The Jaguars SUCK!! It was the worst performance I have ever witness in all my years going to the game. And, to top it off, I stayed, thinking, oh maybe we have a chance. The way the Jags played I don’t think the team would have beaten Bolles High School. On offense, 117 total yards. The worst high school team in the city could have done that. Blackmon must have joined the Armed Forces, because he is nowhere to be found. Defense wasn’t any better. No pressure on the quarterback. No interceptions, and all-of-sudden Jacksonville can’t tackle. Miss tackles, allowing Houston to throw underneath their zone. On one Texan touchdown, there were 5 Jaguar defensive players around and no one made any attempt to go after the ball. Yuk.
The highlight of the game was a individual went on the field and ran from one end zone to the other, taunted security, and ran back to the other end zone, then one person from security started chasing the guy. It ended when a Jaguar defensive back Lowry grabbed him and held him until security took over.
I would think the new owner of the Jaguars, Shahid Khan would be more interested in putting out a good product instead of worring about the Jaguars going to London.
Anyway, if the Jags play this bad at home the rest of the season, they can play all their home games in London.
Steve Sabol, NFL Films president, passed away from brain cancer at the age of 69. Steve, along with his far Ed, founded NFL Films in 1964. It was their vision that paved the way the NFL was shown, and propelled the league to the success it is today. Lyrical description is solemn tones with music in the background, microphones on coaches and players, slow-motion replays, reverse angle replays, setting highlights to pop music, and camera angles never before used in sports, were all developed by NFL Films. Steve Sabol received 35 Emmys for writing, cinematography, editing, directing and producing, and no one has come close to matching his achievements.
This sucks. The NHL owners lockout the players. Can’t both sides realize they don’t generate enough money to give players millions of dollars a year, and at the same time, charge outrageous sums of money to watch a game.
There is talk that the players will have their own games if the season doesn’t start on time.
NHL has now canceled September preseason games.
Speaking of lockouts, when is the NFL going to make nice-nice with the real referee’s. The NFL has plenty of cash. They can give out some and we can get rid of the replacement’s. The integrity of the game is being compromised. Is it going to take someone to get hurt to end this ordeal?? I hope not.
It is obvious to me that the New England Patriots are suppressing Wes Welker’s playing time to hold down his stats. Welker did not get into the game against the Cardinals until Hernandez went down with an injury. Now New England is bringing back Deion Branch and sign TE Kellen Winslow.
Til next time
