Welcome to this weeks edition of Special K's FEARLESS TOP 10 PREDICTIONS. This week the Sprint Cup series is in Pocono, Pennsylvania. It is the 14th race of the 2011 season. The Nationwide series is off this week, while the Camping World Truck series was at the Texas Motor Speedway on Friday evening. Ron "I'll take you out on the restart" Hornaday won his 1st race of the season for Klasses Harvick Inc. This weeks race will also be a test session for the Brickyard 400 in August. The 2 mile track has similar charateristics and the drivers who run well here usually also run well at Indy. Passin will be difficult unless your car is handling. There will probably be very few cautions and if you are starting in the rear you could find yourself down a lap very early in the race. Fuel milage always seems to come into play the last 50 laps and track position as always regins supreme. Last week Brad Keseclownski picked up another lucky win in the Miller Lite Dodge. The big news this week was the altercation between Richard "No Class" Childress and Kyle Busch. Chioldress physically assulted Busch after the race. He is and always has been a hothead just like Klassless Harvick. I guess that's why they have a good relationship. They both have no class on or off the track. Last week yours truly had 6 drivers finish in the Top 10 and 3 others finish 11th, 12th and 20th. The fuel milage cost me having at least 2 more in the Top 10. Here are this weeks picks.
1.---Denny Hamlin is rolling and is 11th in the points just one behind Cryin Ryan Newman who he will pass this week. My favorite driver has 4 wins and 7 Top 10's in just 7 starts here including the sweep in 2006 his rookie season. He has two races he should have won as well. Look for a solid run.
2.---Jeff Gordon also has 4 wins here the last won coming in a rain shortened event while being low on fuel. He is starting up front and should get a solid finish.
3.---Kurt Busch is on the pole and should have a strong finish.
4.---Tony Stewart is starting to roll with the tracks being hot and slick. This is his time of the year and he should be able to overcome crew chief Darrian Grubb.
5.---Carl Edwards has been fast all season and is fast again this week.
6.---Jimmie Johnson has 2 wins here and Chad Knaus will get him up front. They start 14th.
7.---Mark Martin has 6-2nd place finishes here and 33 Top 10's in 48 starts. He is starting 10th.
8.---Crybaby Bowyer is starting 12th and that should help him keep good track position.
9.---Joey Lagano was having a solid run last year in the fall race and Klassless Harvick took him because he didn't have the car good enough to pass him. He is my first surprise pick of the week.
10.--Marcos Ambrose had a Top 5 in his first start. He is my 2nd surpsrise pick of the week. Pocono drives like a road course and he should be able to keep track position by starting up front.
Other drivers to watch could include Dale Jr, (21st) Klassless Harvick and Kyle Busch who both start 30th or worse. They will need a early caution and pit strategy to get to the front. This could finally be the week Klassless Harvick gets caught in the back. Lets hope so. The TV coverage moves to TNT this week mfor 6 races. The coverage is awesome and is 2nd only to ESPN. The only drawback is having to listen to Wally Dullenbach who just like DW has no clue about racing these cars. It is one of my favorite races and should be exciting as usual.
Have a great day everybody.
