Thoughts from an Island Girl

Yesterday the Cardinals lost 15-4 and Albert Pujols went hitless again.   Yet that said,   they are still in first place and on a pace tp win around 94 games.   I know it is still early but baseball is kind of like life.    It is long and has many highs and lows.    If you think about it,  if you have a great year you lose sixty games!   That is fully two full months of life.   Two months of days where you feel a bit down but over three months when you are riding high.

That is a bit like our lives..   For example,  Typhoon Chedeng narrowly missed the Islands last week;  a series of tornadoes plagued and terrified Joplin,  Missouri and investigators for Michelle Malkin,  feel young Marizela Perez may have committed suicide.    The things she bought at the store and the fact that she had just broken up with a boyfriend led them to believe she had made a suicide kit..    And this prospect had me down,   among some other things.

But life goes on.  More tragedies lie in wait but more that and even better is a long life ahead of me and a lot of good times.      Not just on a ball field either.   Despite the Lightning losing,   the team esteemed itself as a real force in the NHL.    So congrats to the winners and the Lightning.   It was a great series.

And some more good news,   Regan Smith wins recently. So here we have a new sensation,   replacing those veterans who sadly are coming to their last days,  while new young warriors take their place.

In  the World of Outlaws,   Steve Kinser is now only 9 points behind the leader,  seeking his 21st championship.  He is a hint of where we have been while the young Regan Smith points to the future.    So like my life,  we have problems but in the end,  we find joy and some perspective on our own lives...
