Tuesday greetings and a Happy Thanksgiving

Last week we had the week long first birthday celebration of Yougabsports and this week we have Thanksgiving!
remember to count those blessings and be thankful.

Winds of Change:

  The winds of change have been blowing at the oldharry family over the last several months. Our small business suffered the loss of two major clients in August and now, after trying to keep it going by spending most of our life savings with the hope of turning it around in this economy, we are forced to close our doors. I am an Obama statistic...one more family jobbed!

  This has been a difficult to handle and being a guy that has always been able to turn a buck, it hits the male ego hard. I'm trying to face this with a positive look to the future. I did throw a few things around in my anger and maybe broke some stuff...nothing important, just a lamp and a few deck chairs and the like ...Irish you know!..... and my super model wife has been great! She is a positive person anyway and has been keeping my head on straight with all the support I need.

  I'm not sure what the future holds but my eyes are open as I look forward. I'm 57 and don't plan on going thru some drastic career change....or going back to school! Our youngest is 17 so it's not like we are just starting out. Maybe I'll just go to the local links and be the golf pro.(canned laughter)
or steal my Daddy's cue and make a living out of playing pool....or find myself a rock and roll band that needs a helpin' hand...

  I'll keep the gab informed as things go forward but I just wanted to let you all know what's up in case I go off on some half cocked tangent that has nothing to do with anything and offend someone. Or, in the off chance I go off rambling on and on about some incessantly idiotic injustice......I do tend to lean right and blame left so be prepaired.

Enough about that.

Recipe of the week.

I'm using this without specific permission from it's inventer but I'm not afraid....what's Petr going to do? sue me? I can be found on the stool formerly know as oldshorty at the end of the bar next to the tip jar......Hey Mo, are you looking for some part time help? I'll keep the riff raff out on the street and refill the peanuts and chips for the loose cannons....what do you say...help a brother out.....you know.....Harry, keep the change....

I think Petr will rather enjoy watching the results after you all try this tasty treat
....we'll have a large bowl on the bar thruout Thanksgiving week

Holiday Punch ~by Petr Johan~

aka- Family Egg Nog Recipe:

1(one) large punch bowl (three or more gallons)
Fill to within one inch of the top with Bourbon (brand of your choice but why waste good money?)
Add two eggs (slightly beaten) (shells optional)
One pint of heavy cream (No substitutions, please. Nothing "lite" or "low fat")
One bottle of cinnamon sugar,
Contents of one ice cube tray.
Stir until bored and present in personalized mugs.
Serves eight well done or twelve medium.

your choice, do you want to be "well done" or just "medium done"

I'm opting for the "well done" this week!
I have much to be thankful for, beautiful wife, beautiful daughter and four great sons....

maybe i'll enjoy a little time off....can't be all bad, I see a lot of slackers doing it everyday of their sorry useless lives.....
