If week 1 was a dream, and week 2 was a nightmare, what do you call the week 3 destruction of the Ravens? Is this Jaguar team that won in London the real Jaguar team? Or are the Jaguars going to be road warriors and then home pansies this year?
This was an enjoyable game to watch. It was turnover free for the Jaguars and the Ravens had 3 turnovers. Bortles was not sacked, and Flacco was sack twice.
This isn’t the first time Blake Bortles has played good solid football. This is the player he should be in most of the games he plays in. If he plays like this the Jaguars will be a very good team.
The last time the Jaguars started 2-1 was in 2007. The Jaguars finished 11-5 and made the playoffs.
I don’t care what anyone says that the fake punt with a 37-0 lead, was a statement to other teams that you have to watch out for the Jaguars under any circumstance.
To me this is the team I, and maybe most of you, envisioned before training camp started. A balanced offense, and a dominating defensive playing well together. We only hope that this will happen on a more consistent basis.
If the team continues to play well, like it did against Houston and Baltimore, they can easily win the AFC South.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, the Ravens lost because of jet lag. They media has to have a logical reason for the loss of a team that is considered better than the Jaguars. Right? Jet lag?? Later on in the game as it got worse for Baltimore, they had to mention the Ravens had 15 players on injured reserve. Any other time the color commentator would say it’s time for the next man up. Maybe it was too late for that comment.
Respect from the national sports media only comes with consistent winning. When this happens they will talk as if they were all-in for years.
Offense the good:
410 total yards.
2-2 on 4th downs.
4-6 on red zone efficiency 67%.
On one play, a fake handoff to Chris Ivory, then a fake reverse handoff to Marquise Lee, then a pass to Marcedes Lewis for a TD. This play caught the Ravens napping.
Offensive line gave up no sacks.
Offense the bad:
Defense the good:
1 fumble recovery for 52 yards.
Defense the bad:
Special Teams the Good:
Myers 3 for 3 on field goals of 23, 45, 29.
Fake punt with :23 seconds to go in 3rd quarter, as a direct snap to Cory Grant resulted in a 58 yard gain.
Special Teams the Bad:
Mistake the cost the game:
Five Star Players:
62 yards and 3 TDs. Career high for TDs in a game. Tied for most TDs in a game.
244 yards 4 TDs, 0 Interceptions.
Great run on a fake punt.
Next game 10/1/17 at New York Jets.
