(Jaydon Micken’s flips into the end zone after a 63 yard punt return for a TD)
It has been 7 years (2010) since the Jaguars played a meaningful game in November and 60,720 were in attendance to watch the entertaining game. There was a lot of “Jawing” going on between the teams, and in particular Ramsey and Green. My question is, will the Jaguars charge me more money for an MMA/WWE take-down during the game?
This is what the referee said about the incident:
Referee Brad Allen said in a pool interview conducted by Florida Times-Union reporter Ryan O’Halloran that Ramsey “was ejected for a flagrant personal foul, which started the altercation which resulted in a punch from No. 18 of Cincinnati [Green]. They were both disqualified. …”
Allen was asked if Ramsey shoving Green to the ground resulted in an automatic ejection.
“I don’t want to use the term ‘automatic’ because it would have been a penalty on its own but we also had a fight,” Allen said. We ended up with a fight by Cincinnati but we had the instigator in Jacksonville. Therefore, they were both disqualified.”
ESPN reported that Referee Brad Allen said both players were “absolutely” warned prior to their altercation.
We can disagree all we want, but the fact is, it is not going to change what is going to happen to Jalen Ramsey and a pending suspension.
Regardless of the incident the Jaguars were in control of the game from the beginning. It was total domination!! Look how good it was for the Jaguars:
78-37 Total Number of Plays.
407-148 Total Net Yards.
148-29 Rushing Yards.
259-136 Passing Yards.
40:14-19:46 Time of possession.
Another good game by Bortles. In the section where I sit (section 432) I heard “Bortles” chants. The Jaguars relied on the arm of Blake and now you Blake haters should too.
Keelan Cole had perhaps the catch of the year in the first quarter.
Got to love Marqise Lee kicking the ball into the stands after his TD in the 2nd quarter. Back-up punter???
The offensive line played extremely well. They have not gotten the credit they really deserve this season. Just think, during the preseason Jaguar fans were going nuts about how bad the line was playing. Remember this Jaguar fans, preseason means nothing!!! Its only purpose is to get the team prepared for the regular season.
Did anyone get wet during the wave?? It was a very light misty rain at 3:30 in Everbank and the sun was out.
We came into this game tied for 1st place, and we ended the game still tied for 1st place with a 5-3 record. Last time the Jaguars were 5-3 was in 2007 (11-5). It is a good feeling and I hope it continues.
Respect from the national sports media only comes with consistent winning. When this happens they will talk as if they were all-in for years.
Offense the good:
148 yards rushing.
259 yards passing.
407 total yards.
No sacks allowed.
Offense the bad:
Defense the good:
Only gave up 16 total yards in the second half.
Played well without Ramsey.
2 sacks (Jackson/Campbell). 35 for the season.
Campbell has 11 sacks this season. Needs one more to tie for the Jaguar sack total for a season.
Defense the bad:
Special Teams the Good:
56 yard field goal.
Punt return for a TD.
Special Teams the Bad:
Mistake the cost the game:
Five Star Players:
63 yard punt return for a TD.
Ties Jaguar single game record for most TD’s on a punt return.
259 yards and 1 TD.
2 punts for 47 yards per punt.
75 yards, 1 TD.
1st receiving TD this season.
99 total yards.
69 yards rushing is a season high for Ivory.
56 yard field goal (career record).
Next game 11/12/17 versus Los Angeles Chargers.
